I guess I do a crazy combination of stuff. I am not a spotless clean eater. I have my cheats and oh crap I am about to pass out I must eat something processed moments, but I don't make my own ketchup and I use my microwave. So, how clean is clean. i don't know.

Tracking, I use a day book that I write it all in because sometimes I can't get to the website to log it. However, it is documented on my daily notes for that day for when I have time to enter it. Last year I got about 3 months behind tracking online and gave up. Determined to stay caught up this time.

I tend to eat a lot of similar meals when prepping for contests - not a lot of variety so tracking online is easy.

Playing with carb cycling right now so I can easily track based on what day it is by copying the previous weeks similar day the modifying for changes made that day - chicken instead of fish or raspberries vs. blueberries - but, when it comes to some veggies, they are so similar I just let it go.

I understand what you mean Ani. I don't use the SP tracker because it's a pain to add different foods everyday and then when a food doesn't show up or have the right facts I have to go all over the web to locate the right info. I see that SP made the tracker a little easier to work with, but I still have no patience with it. If I ate the same foods everyday then it wouldn't be an issue.

Sometimes I am tempted to track and then I remember that it would mean eating a set of the same foods regularly. Reality is, for me, I just don't do that. I eat something different every day; always adding, subtracting, mix & matching whatever I've got in the house. And stopping to weigh everything...aaacckkk! no more for me please! I've just got to get where I can say "NO!" to over-eating. Like today, I had, after a very nutritious lunch of roast beef and veggies, two handfuls of crispy almonds--just didn't say "no". I didn't need those things and that is one of the things that keeps the weight on.

If I don't keep track I am asking for BIG problems. I will actually just keep on eating cause I never feel satisfied.
I find it only takes me about 3 minutes per day now. I have been Sparking for 4 years; I have ALL my foods input into the tracker. I spend a couple of minutes each evening figuring out what I will eat the next day. Easy Peasy

I will admit that I track my food out of habit and I am obsessed with the scale and it's because I DONT want to lose excessive amounts of weight (which is my current goal right now and this changes from time to time). I track my food to make sure I'm not messing up too much and "to see what I was eating and how I was working out when my body did this or that". I also track my workouts too and my weight everyday. I can almost always pinpoint a problem or a success and I will either not make the same mistake too many times or I'll use what I did in the past to help move me along depending on what the goal is.

It's complicated, but I am obsessed and this is the only way I know to keep me successful with my diet and fitness. I think I'd go nutty...I am nutty daily anyway...if someone took my binder and burned it. ...off a bridge anyone?? LOL! I'm kidding, but if something like that were to happen I'd be heartbroken and I mean very heartbroken.

Overall, I think it's a healthy habit if you want to track your progress.

I do it, because it works for me. I have a tendency to overdo food (even clean, healthy) food and it's sometimes even harder to maintain portion control while eating clean for me. My brain wants to just think I can eat however much I want because it's all real food. It's still food, it still has calories, and I still have to practice moderation. And right now that includes keeping track.

No, got very tired of it. It triggered a desire in me to focus on weight loss rather than good health. I always eat nutritionally dense and clean foods that I cook from scratch with my own unique and quirky ways--much too crazy to track anyway. If I have gained weight it's because I have eaten too much and indulged in foods that cause weight gain like grains and sugar. I can eyeball that for sure! I don't trust the nutrition tracker thing anyway.

I am tracking mine currently. I do take breaks from it but I use it to get myself back to reality when I reach the top of my weight range.
I maintain my weight within a couple of pounds so it can't get away from me.

I don't eat 100% clean. Generally I don't track, but start tracking again if I see that the scale is going up.
