I have a firm philosophy concerning package labeling. Any label that claims either weight loss/control or health benefits isn't worth buying as those claims are all about marketing. Advertising agencies are paid to write that stuff, they get their information from the latest mass market hoopla and you can know for certain that none of the people involved in designing those labels are nutritionists--they are advertisers, artists and copywriters. They get paid to apply those talents in order to help food manufacturers make a profit.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Anything boxed or otherwise packaged has to resort to trickery - that's why clean eating and natural (if not organic) foods are so much better and easier!

Watch out for questionable labels attempting to claim "healthy" or "natural"
