I am so out of shape......I don't think I would be able to keep up with the pro's! lol
What is nutritional yeast? Where do you buy it? I'm up for anything and I like most everything! In fact, I think the only thing I've tried that I didn't like was tofu.
I know we are supposed to eat 5 servings of fruit and veggies every day but that just seems like so much food. I eat mostly veggies throughout the day but have such a hard time drinking water or eating all the fruit.
But I'm not giving up. I'm down 2.5 pounds! (and it's been about a week so..yea! :)
Sounds good. How do you do that?
The QuickFire Challenge Team is great for suggesting activities and exercises each day.
I like olive oil and nutritional yeast on popcorn, with a little bit of Parmesan cheese and some salt. I like this on salads, too!
I say, let's all go for 5 servings of fresh fruits and veggies each day. I made it for a month, and now I get about 4.5 servings most days--sometimes more. This is like a team goal, so I guess the team goals help set-up some of what is being discussed here. And I set up my basic Cardio and
Strength training for the Fitness goals.

You might also look for a buddy on sparkpeople. Then you could encourage each other.
Aniduck - Thank you. I think you GET me. It is a desire for someone else to just take charge. I have tried and tried...and failed and failed. I know it's up to me, and I'll never quit trying but without support at home, (in fact, I'd call it anti-support) it's a lonely road. Every chance I get I dash in here and check my computer. But it's never enough time to search and track and log, etc.
I do have a problem with quantity. Quality is the norm for me. I love my veggies!
I'll give the other threads a look. Thanks for that too.
Electralyte - This is another great idea! I'll do it! lol Thanks :)
Sounds great! I'll try the olive oil, parm and sea salt. I just never thought of it. That's what it's all about for me. I get in a rut and make the same thing over and over. I'm in a small town with a Walmart basically. Not much to choose from but I know they have the parm!
If you tell me what to eat it has to be quick and simple. I don't have time or money to dedicate my life to working out and fixing meals. I have 5 kids, 1 husband, 1 dog, 1 cat, 2 jobs and 4 homes to take care of.......but I'm serious about getting BACK in shape.
Millertime, that does sound like a fun idea for sure and I can relate to what you desire here. The drawback is that we don't all agree with what is truly good for us. Yes, we could jiggle the ingredients around a bit (like Laura suggested) but even still, the differences might take away the whole purpose...maybe not, I'm not really sure. Also, each of us has our own schedules, problems, issues, food availability, etc. It can feel lonely at times for sure. I often wish too that someone would just tell me what to do so I don't have to depend on my fickle and easily distracted self.
I also agree with you that SP is such a huge place and it's hard to get down to just exactly what a person needs in a very personal way. But if you spend a little time on the Sparkteams page you might just find a team or two that has something close to what you are looking for. Or, you might consider starting your own team!! There's probably a lot of people that might jump on this idea.
This team is mainly about food choices and education about how our food is handled and mishandled. It's about taking personal control over the stuff we stick in our mouths not so much quantity but quality. The quantity part can be done through the nutrition tracker or even on other threads like "What did you have for breakfast" or "Progress Report". I know these aren't exactly what you are looking for, you want camaraderie in the details.
There is a team called "QuickFire Challenge" that gives you a new exercise to do every day and the amount of reps you are supposed to do throughout the day. You might like that one.
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
I like doing my own thing as well, it would be hard to come up with the groceries for someone else's plan. If I need inspiration I just go look at the nutrition and fitness pages of someone on SP that I admire. A couple of which are on this team. Best of luck!

70 lbs. done!
Well, I could tell you what to do. lol
Anyhow... Why not drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil and a bit of sea salt on your popcorn. Or Parmesan cheese. Healthy fat is not something to be scared of. In fact, it lowers the GI of food. This means less of a blood sugar spike and few calories turning into fat. Healthy fat is essential.
I am concerned about the ingredients that you cannot pronounce.

Thanks. Most people do like doing their own thing. I just want to find a couple people who are a little neurotic like me and need to be told what to do. I give myself too much leeway and am accountable to no-one. I just don't have the willpower to stick to it on my own.
The butter flavor that I use is Popcorn Seasoning. I read the label and wow. It's full of things I can't pronounce. But the upside is only 3 calories per serving. Now I have a dilema. It makes dry air-popped popcorn taste wonderful, and veggies, and other foods but I guess it's not considered "clean". augh. :)
I think that's a great idea... But I like doing my own thing... But I wish you all the luck in finding a free trainer/chef!
Oh.. I am wondering what kind of ingredients are in that butter flavored or cheese flavored powder? Hmmm...

I may have figured out a way to have a personal chef, fitness instructor and coach ALL FOR FREE!
You know how the "hollywood stars" have personal chefs cooking healthy, low fat meals for them, and personal fitness instructors telling them to do 10 more....well....if YOU need a chef, I will tell you what to cook, if you need a coach, I will tell you to do 10 more and so on but ONLY if you all do the same for me. Get it? I know Sparkpeople is all about health and wellness and support but, to me, it's so far and wide I can't get a grasp on a solid thread to stick with.
I don't know...I just thought that if someone would tell me what to make tomorrow, I would do it. And if we all agreed, we all would be making the same thing and have the same foods (basically, I know everyone can't eat the same things but we can come close enough), and if we all ate the same meals every day we could talk to one another and see how it's going.
And if someone told me to do 2 full situps tomorrow. I'd do it. And again, if we all agreed to do 2 situps tomorrow it would be a start, right? Then maybe 3 the next day and 4 the next.
My whole idea is to ALL DO THE SAME THING AND COACH ONE ANOTHER AND TALK ABOUT IT RIGHT HERE. If we are striving to do the same workout and have the same meals.......it might be fun.
I know I'll get mostly negative feedback here (if any at all) because that's how human nature is, but PLEASE, if you don't want to do this, don't worry about it .......
but if you think it might be fun........LET'S TRY IT!!!!! COME ON!!!
