Is your wok new? Did you remove the rust protecting coating that is on a new wok?

Here are some YouTube videos demonstrating the care and seasoning of a wok--very interesting. They all differ in some way so it looks like you have a few choices. But there is some basic similarities. Watch these and let me know what you think.

Here's a webpage that tells how to take care of your carbon steel wok. You might not have ruined it. It might just need re-seasoning and some TLC. Follow the directions on the webpage.

Hi I have a carbon steel wok. That is good, but when I used it last night my wife said she could taste the steel, how can I prevent this. It did have some kind of non stick surface but I burned it and I thing it is coming off. I their any saving
