Welcome! I'm starting slowly myself. Trying to eliminate processed foods. Grow some of my own vegetables. Buy from local farmers and grocers, and hopefully organically grown too! Learn more about GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms). Another informative film is "The Future of Food" (http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/the_ future_of_food/)
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Welcome. Food Inc. is an incredible eye opener. I also recomend watching The Beautiful Truth; Dr. Max Gerson's story. I still eat meat, but I no longer buy from the grocery store. Mostly organic chicken, wild seafood and bison from a local ranch. Why not join one of our challenges? The threads are located in the CHALLENGES forum. Anyhow, glad you found us! Look forward to seeing you on the message boards!
I saw "Fast Food Nation" about 3yrs ago and stopped eating beef/pork then. Last evening I finally watched "food inc" omg made me almost want to go vegetarian....shocking, sad, frustrating... Positive: Strengthened my commitment to Eat Clean
I discovered the magazine "Clean Eating" a year ago. It is the best :) i have done the 14days CE challenge/trial and loved it as well. Sometimes I have lapsed into non clean eating ie my birthday or vacations. Striving to stick with it longer.
Any challenges I could do to help? Suggestions? How do you handle special occasions/vacations?
