Because we have a septic tank, I have been switching over as well. Luckily, I have Ecos and 7th generation laundry liquid. Whew...

Made a new batch of vinegar and water today. :)

I am looking more and more into making my own. I am not sure how these would rate as far as 'environmentally friendly' so I was curious about what you guys though.

I do love Borax and use it like crazy for my cleaning around the house. I continue to make my own household cleaners. Vinegar and baking soda are my best friends.

Any thoughts? I was also thinking abotu making my own diswashing detergent.

I have read that equal parts of borax and baking soda work:

Great information...I'd used Tide for years and changed to Arm & Hammer, thinking it would be better for me and the environment (and it is), but now am going to make a chnage to an even healthier brand...thanks for sharing!

Here is an article about GREEN laundry soap. Prefferably, you want to use a detergent that has a ND beside it`s name (not all name brands were tested)
