Vitamin D.
We're all deficient.
Make sure you get D3 NOT D2.
Yes, you are right Laura; almost all sunscreens on the market can cause cancer. Plus they often don't block all rays anyway--sometime just the good ones letting the bad ones through. Check ingredients at:
www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/
Don't let yourself get burned; just get to the very mildly pink stage--be careful, wear a hat, use zinc oxide cream.

Doc Mercola has some great articles about this.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Yes. The RDA for all vitamin intake is too low as far as I'm concerned too. The RDA simply means the MNINIMUM amount so as not to cause disease. There is not an RDA for a THRIVING quality of life.

Interesting link. I was severely vit D deficient at my last physical; my doctor put me on a high dose supplement for eight weeks and has me supplementing with an over the counter on a daily basis. We brought my levels back up by the time we re-tested, but I'm a little alarmed that it got that low given that I take a multi.

I have never used sunscreen simply because I don't burn. I have always thought that a tan was your skins natural protwction. Of course, laying in the sun until your beet red isn't good, but I think that the sunscreens can be toxic. I'm sure I've heard that somewhere.
Also, skin cancer isn't caused directly from the sun. It is caused by getting too many serious burns...

I know that Vit D levels in the population were bad but not that bad wow.

My doctor tested mine some months back it was fine but I live in sunny Florida.

I don't use Sunscreen even though I live here for the reasons of suppressing Vit and and other toxic producing side effect.

One thing I learned a while back was to go out and face the rising sun in the morning and let its light bath your face for 10 min. It has an energizing effect and it stimulates Vit D production early in the day. emoticon
