What about soaking the almonds in water for several hours first; to soften them a bit.

Oh Debra, that made me laugh. That's another something everyone has done at some time and the memory will always make me smile. A new wife with grater is a pretty dangerous creature. lol

Ouch Amber emoticon I grated the tip of my finger while trying to use a hand held slicer.

I've also used my salad shooter to grate almonds.

I just buy mine sliced, but since I dont have a food processor, if I needed to slice them I'd probably use my food grater??

Amber, I thought this post was going to be about how you cut your hand trying to slice raw almonds. =-)
Glad to see you didn't. I did it once. ONCE =P

I use the handheld food chopper.

Hey guys, I love my whole, raw almonds and I buy them in bulk. The question I have is I have quite a few recipes that call for sliced almonds and I am wondering how I can slice my whole almonds at home? Any suggestions? I don't really want to have to turn around and buy a bag of the presliced almonds since I already have them!

Tips?

*Amber*
