Can you imagine if we had to kill everything we ate? (or farm it, harvest it...) MAN! There would be NO OBESITY, would there?!!!

I really believe that is why the indians had such respect for the animals. They needed them for food but only took was essential.

If we had to kill for food we would have such appreciation for what they (the animal) had forfeited. They nourish us and give us the means to make clothing. They need to be treated with respect while they live.

USE2BAGODDESS Right on!!

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I passed on the link because I have seen the horrible conditions several times since I started living this "clean green" life. Once you see it you can never go back to pretending it is like on the commercials. It is horrible that any living being could do that to another living being. It makes me want to scream when I see someone reach for regular milk at the grocery store. But then I figure they just must not know or have been made aware. Good idea posting the link. Everyone need to see it just once.

My husband and I were just watching some English Travel show host as he travels through the U.S.

A couple of guys from the NE took him deer hunting. He asked could they not 'kill' anything that though he likes to eat meat he doesn't want to have to see something die!

My husband (who rarely comments) blurted out "You hypocrite!"

So many of us have lost touch with where our food comes from. We want to go to the store and buy it from a plastic jug or a sealed in plastic wrap and pretend like that is its original form. Until we learn about our food, and give it and those who raise it respect it will remain a an industry no different from producing a car.

I don't like the idea of watching something being killed, but really feel like acknowledging the source of life is important and respectful. It is a heavy subject.

Thank you for posting the link.

I don't think I could stand to see it, I cry just watching the animal planet! So, I think I will pass. I don't feel like crying today.

Everything today is motivated by greed. Respect and care should be shone to these wonderful animals. This is the way people say thanks for all they give us. Terrible and Shameful.

Anyone who has nursed a baby knows that if they are under stress the milk can be scanty. Its quality may be so poor the infant won't thrive. Its no different with these cows.

This is why more of us seek out farms where we can get raw milk. I like goats milk it agrees with me more.

I'm not brave enough to watch...I'll just stick with my almond milk. I did pass it on though.

They can't read or write but they sure can multiply. Please spay or neuter your pets.

That's one of the reasons I'm getting goats - to learn how to milk before getting my own dairy cow! We were given a Great Pyrenees puppy yesterday (talk about adorable) - today she goes to live with a friend's dog and goats to learn how to protect the herd - one step closer to farm fresh milk!!

I forgot to mention; my milk comes from happy outdoor living cows who get lots of loving care from their owners and get milked by hand.
Raw, fresh milk YES!
