I will definitely keep you all posted! I'm also making the pomegranate glaze for my turkey breast, the coconut cardamom sweet potatoes, and the crock pot carrot cake all featured in the same CE magazine. I will give all of you a full report! :)

KFAYJAY, here's the cranberry recipe I am making (courtesy clean eating magazine):
- 12 oz cranberries, fresh or frozen and defrosted - 1 apple, cored and chopped into 1/3 inch pieces - 1/2 cup raw organic honey - 1/2 cup water - 1 1/2 tbsp fresh ginger, finely minced - zest and juice of 1/2 lemon - 1/8 tsp sea salt
Add all ingredients to large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cranberries break down, apples soften and mixture thickens (sauce will continue to thicken slightly as it chills). Stir often to prevent sticking on bottom of pan. Transfer to a serving dish or storage container, cover and chill for at least 3 hours.
Tip: Cranberry sauce keeps up to 5 days, covered, in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature to serve.
This will be my first time making it, so I can't vouch for the taste yet, but it sounds yummy!!

Spark has this recipe: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-de tail.asp?recipe=770700
I have not tried it and think you should be able to manipulate the amount/type of sugar in it.

Well. That doesn't sound so bad. No marshmallows though. PLEASE!
you wouldn't like the sweet potatoes I'm making then, Laura! It's the recipe in the CE mag, with coconut, cardamom, and pecans! It looks delish and can't wait to sink my teeth into them! But I do agree, they are delicious naked!

This stuff that people do to sweet potatoes! I can't believe it! When I was growing up, my mom's idea of DRESSING up the sweet potatoes was plopping a little real butter on them. They are already sweet WHY would ANYONE EVER want to put that TOXIC FLUFF on them!??? Such a crime! Sorry BECCIE! Just a little rant there! (uh, oh! Am I starting to sound like ANI? lol! just kidding ANI!)

Ugh! the traditional one. My mother and sister doesn't want to have healthy foods. The turkey will be smoked (salt) and we'll have sweet potato casserole with apples and marshmallows, green bean casserole, stove top stuffing and rolls. I'm making the pumpkin pie. Home made and has healthy as possible. Maybe I'll just eat the pie. lol.

I'm going to the MILs house. She is being super enough to do all the cooking and hosting (like she does every year). I did have my husband place the request for extra veggies. I don't care what veggies are there as long as there are plenty to fall back on.

I'm in Canada; already had Thanksgiving. Furthermore, my hubbie was away working, so it was just me and my 5 year old. We roasted an organic chicken, I made cranberry-orange stuffing (made from sourdough bread)baked sweet potatoes (I threw in a regular potato for my 5 year old), steamed veggies (broccoli, I think), some homemade chicken gravy, and I believe we had some homemade CLEAN pumpkin pie with some not so clean whipped cream on top.
We are going out to eat, because for just the two of us, it is cheaper than buying all the stuff and then having leftovers forever....LOL
His mother and sister and BIL will go somewhere else at a different time as we do...ahhhh let's just say they are difficult......and let it go....

I think I might try the menu in the Clean Eating magazine. Anyone else trying it out? I keep looking at it and my mouth just waters! We don't eat the whole turkey so I'll just make a turkey breast, but will definitely make a completely healthy menu this year. It will be just the hubs and I, and we will go to see family that weekend, which will make it a lot easier to have what we really want to eat.
Anyone have some great recipes for Turkey day to keep our guts in check while enjoying the holiday?
