Me either....we can't afford to do useless trips. If we have a dr. appt or something that would be different.

TJ's is even farther for me than Costco. I'm single income, so I do ANYTHING to save! I plan entire excursions for the area and never move my car if it's not going to work first!
It's my life, so I'm used to it. I can't imagine it another way... Can't see myself ever doing " one stop" trips:D
I would just absolutely love to have a Trader Joe's near us, but the closest one is in Atlanta suburbs. It is about 65 miles to Costco in Birmingham, so unless we were going to be in Atlanta I can forget shopping at Joe's. I wouldn't want to make a special trip....
Thanks for the membership info..........quite helpful We haven't even renewed our Sam's Club yet...lol

Got me beat ! It's just under 45 miles to mine:)
membership. I'm single & I make up for the $50 membership fee each year PLUS get cash rebates on my AMEX. you have to be careful like anywhere else & know your prices. :)
We have to drive 65 miles to get to a Costco... do they have like a membership or just like a regular market???

I like the Hummus Snacker Packs. They are great for packing in your lunch with baby carrots. They also have good dried apples that are great for lunches (about 30 calories and taste good). I noticed that Costco is starting to sell a lot more organic foods now.

Allergic to agave! Found that out the hard way about 25 years ago. Yikeseses! Are you using it rather than sugar?
I read somewhere on SP that they carried Agave Nectar and I was able to find it last trip I made. LeAnn

Thanks! I'm not usually a bread-eater (one loaf will "last" me about 4 months--so not kidding!) but I'm definitely going to look into these meats and egg whites (love their produce, too)
We always go there for fresh fruits and veggies. Sometimes we have been able to find lamb chops at our Costco, but not the last couple times. The salmon usually looks good, too. If we don't have time to make our own bread, the Aspen Mills brand is clean. Defnitely get your raw nuts like almonds and walnuts; and if you can control yourself with a "treat", keep an eye open for holiday specials on dark chocolate - but make sure it doesn't have any kind of HFCS or corn syrup in it.
I'm just saying... Kelley

Chicken breasts, pork tenderloin (that I cut into chops), pre-mixed salads, other produce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar.
I'm in Canada, so some of my brands are probably different.
I second the suggestions of Kashi and almond butter.

One of the things I love that my Costco carries is dry roasted edamame. A great source of protein and helps fill me up. I live in Hawaii though so I am not sure if this item is carried on the mainland Costcos.

When I go I get some-Kirkland almonds,1.36kg bag. -2pk egg whites -pork loin ( I cut it up into single servings) -besides the produce, I find these items cheaper then if I bought them at the regular grocers. Have fun!!

Hiya everyone!
I'm heading to costco after work today. I don't get out there tooo often and would love any suggestions for things that I've either missed or are new.
