Two local, organic eggs, one slice of nitrate free, local bacon, and locally grown, fresh asparagus. I also make cold-press coffee, so I iced that and added organic whole cream. Delish! (I work at a food co-op in a college town with farmers all around us!)

I am concerned this post sounds "uppity" but I am not like that at all. I am just very fortunate to have access to quality food brought to the store by my neighbors!

I hard boiled pastured egg, 1/2 cup of small curd cottage cheese, and my morning coffee- made with creamer, a tiny bit of flavored creamer, 1 tsp sucanat and 1 tbsp of coconut oil. Oh, that reminds me, I forgot to add the coconut oil to my nutrition tracker!

I haven't not had breakfast; however, when I do at 8am --- two egg whites fried in non-stick pan, with a tiny bit of butter spray, along with some fresh mush mellon wedges --- & my "cuppa" tea.

God bless!

Today no breakfast so I could get fasting blood draw.

Annduck..I would LOVE to have a fresh duck egg every morning. When I purchase, I pay $7 from organic farm (food club orders from amish family) but at that price I use them for mayo, one or two scotch eggs and over a turnip hash. Lucky me husband is picky. He only wants a washed egg in a carton.:)

type with you later. Junebug

Chocolate oatmeal with strawberry sauce on top. Made with old fashioned oats, chia seeds, flax seed, cocoa powder, unsweetened coconut flakes, almond milk, white grape juice, unsweetened applesauce. Strawberries were chopped up and cooked with some coconut oil, vanilla, pure maple syrup and a little arrowroot. Yummy! First time I made it and everyone liked it

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Seems to me that there are members of this team who aren't actually eating very well. For your health's sake eat REAL food. That is what our bodies crave for optimum health. A healthy body is a perfectly shaped body.

Bran flakes aren't real food. Bran, separated from the wheat, can irritate your colon. If fiber is something you think you need more of then eat lots of fresh veggies and some fruit.

If I have offended you then I am sorry for that. That is, I am sorry that you are offended. I am on this team to learn about, and assist others in, the eating of foods that are actually good for us; foods that can actually help us to lose unwanted pounds, keep it off, and be energetically healthy.

I hope you joined this team for the same reasons.

Did you know that you actually NEED healthy fats in your diet to lose excess stored body fat?

Well Cosmic, you certainly trumped me this morning. I ate cheesecake. Okay, it's my own homemade but still, not the best breakfast with all the sugar that's in it. Naughty, naughty me.

Later I had an over-easy duck egg on top of some quinoa.

For the next month I will be having a shake for breakfast....now before anyone says "only a shake for breakfast" let me tell you what is in it...spinach, Kale, banana, goji berries, pineapple, flax seed, chia seed, and egg white....it is very filling and keeps me going til my morning snack.

Keep Smiling with Dy :)

I have fresh (from my back yard) eggs nearly every morning.
This morning I had duck egg, avocado slices and asparagus followed by freshly juiced veggie juice.

Duck egg cheese omelette and asparagus

Advice for Maggie: A lot of recent evidence shows that all that water isn't always so good for us and that we ought to drink when thirsty. But everyone must decide for themselves. If you sweat a lot then you need to replace the water lost. I have some doubts about the popular advice to just get 8 or 10 (or whatever) glasses of water down every day no matter what. I think the reason some people lose weight by drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day is because they have switched over from soda and juices (even diet soda) to water. That right there will make the pounds drop off.

Water by itself doesn't leave us feeling very full for long as it leaves the stomach pretty fast.

I have read several places that drinking water with a meal can interfere with digestion because it dilutes bile and acids needed to break down the food.

I am not convinced that we ought to be motivated to drink a glass of water just because we want to lose weight. Thirst is the best and most natural motivator...I think.

Here's some interesting articles:

HI, I'm Maggie from Canada and I'm new to this group. Healthy eating has always been important to me but I haven't always focused as much as I should.
I really enjoy my subscription to Everyday Health as it offers so much good advice; most recently I've been reading on the importance of a well rounded breakfast (not really news to me but new to me at this time in my life).
So today for breakfast I ate:
1 hardboiled egg
1 sl whole grain toast with a smearing of PB
1/2 banana and 2 strawberries in a 1/4 cup serving of greek yogurt
1/2 gl 1% milk
1 cubic inch (ish) of cheddar cheese (I likely should have passed on this)

I've been pushing alot of water; upwards of 10glasses a day; I start each day with 2 glasses, before breakfast (I'm told it helps to really kickstart my metabolism).

advice is always appreciated,
message me anytime,
maggie.

Say something funny, I love to laugh~

Over-easy duck egg, homemade bread and fermented cabbage followed by a small smoothie sort of thing (fresh veggie juice, whipped coconut milk, plain yogurt) and supplements.

-Dr. Andrew Saul

smoothie with frozen mango, scoop of protein powder, a half of cup non-fat greek yogurt, a handful of fresh blueberries and a hand full of baby spinach, water and some ice cubes.

This was the first time putting veggie's in my morning smoothies. Actually it made it taste even better although the color was different. Maybe I will try Kale next time.

A bowl of hot quinoa flakes with fresh cream, cranberries and a little drizzle of real maple syrup. Too good!

I had a cup of mixed berries, a cup of mixed fruit, a tablespoon of ground flax seeds, a banana, and a tablespoon of cocoa powder all mixed together. I also had a cup of tea.

-Two slices of Ezekiel bread w/coconut oil, one sautéed egg.
-Green smoothie: low-fat plain yogurt, plain almond milk, spinach, frozen strawberries, 1/4 avocado, 1/2 grapefruit, tsp maple syrup. I'd probably leave out the grapefruit next time…made it a little bitter, even though the flesh was sweet.

Beef/veggie hash with 2 over-easy duck eggs on top with fermented cabbage lingering on the edge. So good; so good for me.

Haven't had breakfast yet but in just a few minutes I'm going to fix myself a duck egg/cheese omelet and beef/vegetable hash. PROTEIN, no junk; only REAL food (I need to convince myself to stick with this kind of eating...all day!) nojunknojunknojunknojunknojunknojunk. Got it.

Oops, forgot to report my own breaky:
A huge, over-easy, triple yolker duck egg (yes, you heard that right, triple!) and some beef and veggie hash made from a friend's own, pastured meat cows. So yummy

PS: I weighed the egg after I brought it home from a local poultry guy and it weighed 4.2 ounces!!
