This year I made a deal with myself, if I get to my goal then a swimsuit from Victoria Secret! We just got a store 8 hrs from where I live so I can order online without huge shipping costs :) Hopefully I'll have the nerve to wear it by then lol
I just bought a new swimsuit at Land's End. (It was located in a Sears store.) I haven't had a swimsuit for more than 18 years, so it was scary to try them on. The surprise was that several fit, so there were options. The final choice was halter tank top and a short shirt bottom. Now I'm ready to go on the cruise with my DH in July - that is, if I can get up the nerve to wear the suit in public.

Target has a pretty good quality for a pretty good price. I also often browse through Marshalls - if you're lucky, they might have brand name stuff for a Target price)) The only problem is you won't always find your size, but next time they might have something else for you. You never know) But it's worth taking a look.
hoping I actually NEED to buy a new suit. I've had the same swimsuit options for the past 3 years...they aren't stretched out because, well, I don't sunbathe or do the pool very much.
I have a swim dress....black with a bright turquoise band and then I have a brown-tone leopard print tankini with an alternate bottom in solid brown. The leopard print bottom is a skirted bottom and the plain brown bottom is a decent (read: modest) cut "bikini" bottom.
REALLY hoping to get a new one...may have to get a tummy control one this year just to hold what is left that hasn't gotten toned and tightened up.
Not sure where I got the tankini, but I think I got the swim dress from JC Penney
Ive haven't bought a swimsuit in like 8 years so this tread was great for me!! I'm thinking of Victoria Secret as well, but the problem is that it will be used pool side in Vegas but then just the lake for the rest of the summer, so I need one that's classy AND casual.
Well, my best friend and I are having a "Biggest Loser" challenge between the two of us and at the end the person who lost less has to buy the winner a bathing suit from anywhere she wants, so provided I win, mine is going to be from Victoria's Secret :) The one I have right now that I had to buy recently is from Target though, it's of pretty good quality. My sizing's odd though, 'cause I'm an XL on top but medium on bottoms..
I normally will go to a local store for I'm always afraid of buying from a magazine since you hate to send a swimsuit back if you don't like it. I try Kohl's, Dillards, JCPenney and Macy's and usually between those I hopefully will find one.
I haven't bought a new swimsuit for (2) years. I have to buy one this year and I'm planning on waiting til right before I go on vacation at the end of May. I am hoping to lose 5-10 more lbs before I do the dreaded shopping trip which I'm sure will take all day. Basically I don't care how much the suit costs if it makes me look decent. That is something I don't mind splurging on for if I like it on and think it makes me look ok then I'm all for it. I usually go anywhere and everywhere to look and will try on all styles for you never know. I'm at the point that if I lose another 15 lbs I wouldn't look bad so I will try hard til I'm on the hunt.
I'm not planning to buy a new suit this year. I think my current suit will just fit me a lot better. I will be at our local pool a lot as I'm President-Elect of our pool association this year. But I can't swim much because of being diagnosed with epilepsy this past September. The idea of having to wear a life jacket in the pool just doesn't appeal to me at all! Call me vain, but I've been swimming since I was 4, almost 50 years now!

My neice told me she buys hers at Kohl's because you can mix the top and bottom. I'm so much larger on top than bottom it's difficult to find a one piece. I usually look for a tankini with the bottom being a skort. My best luck however has been when I shop with my Mom. She's a breast cancer survivor and the mastectomy swimsuits fit great because the breast portion is designed for any size.

Not sure who wrote this but I thought was beautiful.
I had one from Lands End once and it lasted a LONG time. I loved it! The suit was made well and it was a good fit. I'm not buying a new one this year. We don't live near the water and I don't go to the pool often, so the one from last season will still fit the bill.

I just bought 2 new suits at JC Penney. My old suit is to big (YEAH) and stretched out. I bought 3 pieces-a brown skirt bottom, a turquoise and brown halter and a brown tie died looking top. My total cost was around $90 but they'll last a long time I hope.
