Hey girl, take it easy on yourself! You will make it! It is a known fact that guys lose faster than us so don't let it bum you out, and I believe that when we lose the weight we look better than them and we keep it off, we don't slip back to the beer belly stage like they so quickly do. I wish I lived close to you so I could help you with your boys and give you time for yourself. Keep at it, YOU WILL LOSE IT!

This is a Journey and none of us do it perfectly every day .
Its ok as long as we try again and can laugh at our foibles.
IF weight loss is your only goal then doing exercise and nutrition perfectly should bring you the ultimate satisfaction--It didn't for me.
I realized that what I really wanted was not just weight loss.
It was the freedom, relief and joy in LIFE that comes from trying my best and accepting the rest.
The blessing is in the daily effort
P.S. Your effort is your business and his journey is his business.
Tell him to mind his own business.
As long as you keep trying you'll get there when you get there!

hope you are feeling better . Like everyone else has said don't beat yourself up to bad about your over eating I sure everyone has gone through this I know just how you feel, but I just pick myself up and keep moving forward and not dwell in the mistake I made. So start strong and forget about your eating mistake go stronger!!!!!!!

Motivation is what gets me started. Habit is what keep me going.

don't let it get you down
I know how tough it can be
There are a lot of good work out videos that you can do at home - so you won't have to go to the gym for every workout.
Be creative - but most of all just keep moving.
And you might just have to tell your husband how nagging you and rubbing his success in your face makes you feel
HANG IN THERE !

Hang in there LadyDice!! You can do it!! I know how difficult it is to find time for yourself, although i do not pretend to know what you are going through with your boys needing constant supervision. i have two little ones myself and just have to walk away and "force" my husband to take over so that i can exercise. I do not have a gym membership, I walk or run and then also use the SP videos - they are great and you really work up a sweat with some of them :) don't get down on yourself, just the fact that you have committed to getting healthy and are on SP is a HUGE step in the right direction. setbacks happen, just don't hold on to them, let them go and keeping pushing forward. YOU CAN and WILL, DO IT!!! if you need help or support - do NOT be afraid to ask!!!

Is there anyone in the neighborhood who can watch the boys while you and the hubby go to the gym? If not, have hubby and kids drop you at the gym and send hubby home with kids saying, "pick me up in an hour." Or he can take care of the kids while you do home workouts.
The other thing having nothing to do with any of this is that you really should learn to drive. Even if you end up rarely doing it, it is alwasy convenient and safer to have your own driver's license. What if something happened to your husband? My father died when my mom was 42. She had 4 kids ages 4 - 14 and she didn't drive. My dad drove us to church, my dad took her to the grocery store, my dad took us to visit our grandmother, doctor's appts, etc. Now my mom was dependent on the neighbors. This was in 1971 so there were many stay-at-home moms who could help. She finally got her license 2 years later when my brother turned 16 and got his and she hasn't regretted it one bit! Adding an adult female driver shouldn't add that much cost to your insurance and you wouldn't have to buy another car. But when hubby got home you could eat dinner and then you could leave for the gym!
Something to think about!
Good luck!

Like everyone else is saying, don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone has those kinds of days, the trick is to recognize why you feel like you failed yourself by eating those nutty bars...it's all in how you analyze your feelings and work on that (emotional eating). Remember that sometimes men can lose faster initially and that's okay, you can only work on you. When my husband use to say "go to the gym and quit complaining" it would drive me crazy...so I took some advise from my mom. I started always replying back "I love you", "I adore you" then I slowly realized that not only did he quit telling me that, but I quit complaining about my weight. Have you tried the video's on SP under the Healthy Lifestyle tab? I do those every day, they are short and very managable. This is a long (life long really) journey and it's great you are taking it...for yourself! Have you joined any teams for parents with kids with diabilities? You may find support and ideas there. My son has health issues so I know it's hard to find "you" time and life is emotional everyday. We are all here for you, take care and keep traveling forward on the journey, even if you stop or take one step back...

Hang in there! Everyone has bad days. Have you tried fitting in a short workout at home? There are some good "walk at home" videos that my kids have actually been doing with me. I know its hard to fit, but you can do it!

Hope today is a better day for you, keep on plugging away, like the others said even doing your daily chores are somewhat of an exercise, run up and down the stairs when doing laundry, take extra trips to put laundry away, calf raises while cooking, they also have the videos under healthy lifestyles you can do at home, best of luck and take care, you are soooo worth it!!!!emoticon

Like others have said...don't beat yourself up about it. So you had 2 nutty bars. It's not like it's the end of the world. Consider that your "cheat day". Yesterday was my cheat day...I had a cupcake. And you know what? It was delicious! Did I feel bad about it? Not until I looked in the mirror and saw that my teeth were blue from the frosting. And like your husband, my husband ALWAYS loses weight faster than me. Yes, it's kind of discouraging and a little frustrating, but you just have to keep eating healthy and it will come off.

Summer is a great time to get outside and find an activity that all of you can enjoy. Walking, gardening, even mowing the lawn are all great ways to get some quick exercise. When you can't get to the gym (for whatever reason), do a quick routine at home. If you don't have the weights, etc., use what you have around - soup cans for curls and triceps extensions, modified push ups, stairs (even if its only a few) - all of these can be used to create a home based exercise routine. Use your imagination!! Good luck and stick with it! You can do it!

Give yourself a break. We all have bad days. Tomorrow is a new day start again.

When I was married it was hard to find the time to work out between the kids and my husband there was never a spare minute and their needs always came first. However this was not healthy for my relationships with my kids or husband. I regret that I was not able to say I come first for this one hour of the day.

Take the time you need for yourself. Even if it is just going on line and working out to Spark Videos while the boys are playing. You will feel better and your relationships will flourish.

Don't beat yourself up for today. I had a day that ended in a flop myself. Made the mistake of baking cupcakes for the kids last night. Unfortunately, I ate a few cupcakes myself. Just dust yourself off and keep going. You've done so well thus far. Slow and steady wins the race. You already have in you what you need to reach your goal. Do what you know to do and you will succeed.

Sounds like you are just in a funk today. I hope you will be out of it by tomorrow. Remember that men always lose faster than women and try not to take it personal. Maybe you can talk to your hubby and explain how you feel about his "nagging".

...And now I feel so rotten. I ate more than I should have. Plus I was so angry at my hubby that I ate a Nutty Bar (both pieces!). He keeps rubbing it in my face that he is losing weight faster than me. I am happy for him, really I am, I am just peeved that he keeps rubbing it in my face.

And then he thinks he is helping me by nagging me to go to the gym. He means well but still it is aggravating...

I don't drive so I depend on others to drive me around. He tells me that he will drive me to the gym whenever I want to go but when I am "able" (done with the boys) to go...he is usually busy or sleeping. Plus having nobody to watch the boys (all my boys are disabled so they cannot be alone!) makes it really hard.

I can go when they are in school but it is summer now. Guess I am just bummed out tonight....

Love ya,
Lady Dice
