If I let every time "I fell off the wagon" Stop me
I would be a hopeless mess and never lose any weigh
ever hr is a new start.
So we stumble the only real failure is if we don't lean from the stumble. In my case sometimes it has taken a little longer to learn then I like to admit but I am learning along the way.

I am so glad that I found this post !! I had fallen off the wagon for longer than a week. After the first couple of days, I felt like I had to make up the missed exercises, and that kept me from moving forward. After a couple more days like that, the task was impossible.
But then I decided to just jump back on, not worrying about the days to make up.
Last night, my only fitness goal was to get to bed on time, so that I could get up this morning to accomplish today's fitness goals. It worked !! I did my bootcamp, along with 30 Day Shred and elliptical machine as my cardio.

So, don't worry about the past, worry about now and what you are doing with it.

So you slipped off the wagon, hop back on and start over. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Everyday is just another chance to do things better then the day before.

Don't get discouraged, just try to get up in the morning and get something done, whether its laundry, a brisk walk etc. Once moving you will feel better, best of luck to you all!!! emoticon

this is why sparkpeople works so well. all of us can relate and go on and off our diets,. the big difference is that we keep coming back. someone gave me this about a year ago and i made a poster out of it and put it on my bathroom mirror so i see it everyday.

if you slip, dont fall
if you fall, dont wallow.

keep at it and you will do great. my prayers are with you emoticon

Shelly - we all have those days/weeks. I just joined this challenge on the weekend and then came down with a chest infection. I have hardly gotten any cardio in this week, other than a few walks, but have gotten a few of the videos in. Now I'm starting to feel better and am going to get moving. I know I will feel better, you will too. emoticon

same here, my alarm goes off every morning @ 5am, and every night i say i am getting up with the alarm and do my boot camp video. every morning i hit the snooze. i walk everyday for my lunch hr (45-55 min)then i either go to curves for my workout or go home and do my dvd workout or walk another mile. so to then think of doing the boot camp video forget it. i also do wall push-ups every time i go to the bathroom @ work. i think over sat and sunday i will catch up on the videos besides my hr walk.

haha, I never even got on the wagon!
but you can do it - think about how GREAT exercise makes you feel. and something is definitely better than nothing, that is a healthy way to think of it.
don't beat yourself up either - positive positive positive thoughts!
hmmm...this is probably a sign that I should get myself moving on this challenge...

Shelly,
Looks like you have written what I have been feeling for some time. Except I have been exercising every day. I'm a task person, I mark on my calendar the exercise and minutes.
Put on some good tunes and start moving, even for 10 minutes.

I read the most amazing blog today!! It went something like this ...

It's not motivation you lack ... you already have motivation. That's why you are on your weight loss journey. Something motivated you. What you lack is ACTION.

It went on to say...
Imagine you are going on a very, very long trip and your pack is almost full. You have room for only one more thing. You are allowed to choose between just two things ... motivation or action. If you choose motivation, then you are still in the same postion you are in currently. When you choose ACTION, that is when you get somewhere.

Just remember ... you will get nowhere without action. Look at your goals ... why do you want to reach those goals? How are you going to reach those goals? JUST DO IT! Just get up, get moving .. CHOOSE ACTION! You won't lose any weight sitting there but you will lose weight just getting up and doing it! BUT ... you just have to make the choice to do it! You have to believe in yourself!

Here's what I do ... I get up and get moving ( "A champion is someone who gets up even when they can't" ) ... I tell myself, just exercise for 15 minutes and only AFTER those 15 minutes, if I still feel like stopping, then I can. You know, I NEVER have stopped once I start. It's all about taking ACTION!

If you're having trouble with the videos, you can find them on www.youtube.com. Search on sparkpeople videos. There's an overview of the 7 days of workouts on the main team page. Look for the name of each video for the appropriate day. Hope this helps!

I think the lazy streak runs in groups. Last week when i started I was doing really well, watching what I was eating and exercising after my babies went to bed and then one night I decided I was tired and I went to bed instead of exercising and after that it seemed like the laziness over took me. I have been only half#*@ watching what I'm eating and only exercising like every other night if that. So today i decided that I'm going to get back in the game and push myself to exercise before I go to bed. Good luck to you, hang in there I know how you feel.

So great to see so much encouragement! My entire goal for bootcamp is to get MOVING everyday. (or at least most days) Since May is the second busiest month of the year for me, I figured if I could do it this month, I could do it every month!

I love that quote along with Nike's "Just Do It."

like all the others are saying, just do the short little video "& be done with it!" You'll feel so much better for having done so. Forget about what you haven't been doing & just get yourself back on that wagon. YOU ARE WORTH IT! ;-D

The best thing to do is just do the video and get it over with ,it don't take that long and it's done focus on what you need to do to get where you want to be the more you put it off the easier it becomes to give up and stay where you are . Focus on you. Picture yourself thin !!! You will do the NYB videos, because you know they will help you physically and mentally go onward on this journey..I wish you the best of luck.

Don't worry about it! Get back on track today. I moved the fourth day of the boot camp and completely lost my routine-- today's my first work out in a week, but at least I'm trying, right? There are still three weeks left!

Just do it dammit! That is my mantra when I just want to lay like broccoli on my couch. If I don't mind, the body screaming saying "no!" won't matter. If I dwell on my time off the wagon, I usually convince myself otherwise. Envision the itsy bitty, yellow-polka dot bikini and shake a leg!

I'm with the people who suggest not waiting until tomorrow. Unless you are outside of the Americas, at the very least there are still 7.5 hours within which you can do some type of exercise! I wasted years of my life telling myself and everyone around me that I would "start tomorrow" - it never happened. One day I decided to "start right now" and I haven't stopped since.

If you are struggling, as many people do, just get up right now, leave your computer, and do some sort of activity. Just 10 minutes. You've got time.

I have been kind of straddling the wagon this week. when my husband went out to mow . I thought oh well I may as well see if I cant get some interest up in a exercise video of some sort. I have to rely on what I can find on the internet and I only realy like to dance. I am not able to find any dance videos .I found exercise tv but just as I get started they stop. so I just found a oldies station on my computer and did my own exercise. old time 50's rock and roll is a good work out and 20 min of it is a good cardo work out so I think maybe I got back on the wagon today. But I still would like to find some dance videos on the internet to exercise by.

I'm having a problem too, it's not with the food consumption but with the videos. I can't get them to come up on my computer, I watched a lot of them previously but now the bootcamp ones won't come up, does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem.

I found that doing the short challenge videos helps me to keep going when "I don't feel like it". Don't worry about "getting into your workout clothes" ... those mini-routines can be done in your pajamas! AND, exercise stimulates the brain's production of neurotransmitters that improve the way you feel both physically and mentally. That little stretch-routine could be the most important "snack" of the day!

This happens to us all. Forget about yesterday's disappointments. Today is a new day! When I feel like I don't want to exercise, I tell myself I will do just 5 minutes. Before I know it, I have done a whole workout. Get back on that wagon. You can do it!

Hey Lady I am right there with you. In fact I just posted a similar blog on the message board. It is under hungry spells? Anybody else have these issues.
Check it out, it may make you feel better to know you are not alone.

Don't beat yourself up over it - just climb back on and give it another try. I find that if I can just get myself started - those tired feelings subside and let me do what I need to do. Good Luck

SANDER48...I couldn't agree more. Tomorrow never comes. Do whatever it takes to start today. Wall push-ups in the bathroom at work, kicking your legs under your desk, calf presses while doing your dishes. Something...ANYTHING. Start NOW! We are all here for a better way of life. Reach for that life NOW!

It's not too late to do something today. A 10 minute video? Try that.
Work has been stressing me out. To get off on the right foot this morning, I went for a walk before work. After about an hour of work though, I was feeling sorry for myself again though and had a huge, fattening breakfast. Ugh. That's not usually like me. I usually only have fruit, yogurt, or oatmeal. Then I just felt more sick and tired which made my day worse and I'm handling the stress worse. Note to self, I won't make that mistake again tomorrow. I'm back on the wagon but this is no way to get ahead if I keep sabotaging myself.

Atheza, you still have time today. Don't wait until tomorrow, tomorrow never comes. We're with you. You can do it. It's only 5 minutes. Now I'd better get mine done. I did walk 50 minutes today, but still have to do my boot camp. emoticon

Oh that wagon, it is so topsy turby all the time. My thing is, is that I sit here all day and say ok... "just get up and do it, and before I know I know it, I am laying in bed thinking how many opportunities I had to today to workout for me, and I didnt. Well tomorrow's a new day...and it gets pushed back each day. I had such motivation a year ago, I was 4lbs from my goal weight and let it go. I tooks some time off b/c I had been working my butt off for 6 months, now its a year later and I am 15lbs from my goal weight. I was so close and let it go. Come on motivation.....HIT ME!!!

Everyday I have been saying to myself that I will start exercising today but then the next day comes and I have done nothing.
I still hope that tomorrow I will start again.

Get back on the wagon! I have found that when I don't feel like working out that is the break-through point. Do it when you REALLY don't feel like doing it and it will begin to become easier the rest of the time. Then the next time you don't feel like it, you will remember how great you felt and go again. Like you said...doing a tiny workout is better than nothing!

It's kind of like losing your balance when you're walking on ice! You just say "whoa.. that was a close one!!" And you just keep walking like nothing happened! It's only the 2nd week in May. You didn't fall all the way!!

It's not the falling down that we should worry about, but the getting back up and into it! We are human we fall, but as long as we get back up, we don't fail! Don't beat yourself up, but just honor yourself by doing better.

Good for you for getting back into things. You will feel better too. I know if i don't exercise for a few days i start feeling sleepy too. If i get in my exercise even if its 10 minutes i feel a lot better.

I have fallen off the boot camp wagon! I've been doing pretty well with eating (but not great either) and I haven't exercised for almost a week. I just need to get motivated again! I feel so sleepy this week that I can barely do anything. I don't know what my problem is! Oh well - I'm getting it in gear tonight even if it's just a tiny work out! emoticon
