Ok, so I'm not the only one - that makes me feel a little bit better, and "I feel your pain" Hope we heal up by next Wednesday ;-) I better get a mat before then!

I have a foam garden kneeler I got from the dollar store that does well for me when I do push-ups. The yoga mat doesn't work so well on our carpets but I do like the blanket idea! Lorraine

I ended up with the same thing from the crunchless core workout. I have a mat but didn't use it. Thought the carpet would be enough padding. Wrong! Next time I'll use the mat and probably the folded up towel idea.

I am not a fan of mats either. I like the blanket idea. I do my stuff on my bamboo floor and havent reall needed a mat yet.

I like the microfleece idea! If you put it on a carpet, you get the cushiness underneath too.
I have a yoga mat, but it's too thin and slippery - it tends to slide away from me sometimes. If I use a blanket, it's big, so I can meander all over it.
Thanks for the idea! :)

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just have to break down and buy a mat - worth it! The pain I'm feeling is no fun.

I haven't had any problems. I have a mat, but haven't been using it. But, the mat is a good idea.
I can do this!!

I bought a mat on sale about six months ago but before that I used a microfleece blanket folded into a yoga mat shape. It was softer than carpet or other material.
I know its similar to what everyone else has said but microfleece is pretty painless.

A mat would definitely be better, you can get them at walmart for $10 or maybe use and old towel to put under your knees
Never, ever give up, its worth it in end.

You can also try using a hand towel. When I do push-ups on my knees, I use a hand towel underneath my knees because our carpet tears up my skin.

I would definitely recommend looking into a yoga or pilates mat. You can find some pretty nice ones on sale at WalMart for pretty cheap. You wont get the burn like you would on a rug.

Question: Did anyone else experience a nasty rug burn from any of the videos?
I am using a rug (not a mat) and regular cotton exercise clothing. After doing the crunchless video, I noticed a soreness that I am guessing came from the V-shape position leg raises. You can guess as to where the rug burn is located.
I am bummed because I need to solve the problem before doing the video again. Did I do it wrong? Is the rug a bad idea? Should I switch to being completely on my back instead of in a V-shape?
I would like to avoid this and any other sports injury in the future. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Kelly
