I have changed EVERYTHING about the way I eat, simply by substituting low calorie for high calorie foods. For example, I now drink unsweetened almond milk (chocolate & vanilla) with a splenda packet in it instead of skim milk, saving half the calories. Using sugar free everything: crystal light drinks (margarita flavor), ice cream, cool whip, cake mix, pancake syrup, canned fruits, etc. Use low fat everything possible: waffles, crackers, etc. Kellogg's cracker chips instead of potato chips, etc. In fact, I'm eating more than ever, enjoying it more than ever, and losing about 2 pounds a week!

Noel, I know what you mean. I think about what/when I'm eating, but sometimes I still move food from my hand to my mouth when I really don't want to. But, I have made some positive changes, too.

I track almost everything I eat, which helps me to keep my mind where ti belongs.

I haven't gone to more meatless meals, but I do enjoy fish and chicken more than I used to.

I definitely have increased my veggies and some fruits more than previously.

Until we came to AZ this winter, I was doing great at avoiding evening snacking and eating, which has always been a problem for me. Then I fell into those same bad habits and even when it was "good" stuff I would over do it. Now I'm more in control again, and I'm hoping that once we get home I'll be better able to be in charge once again.

I try to drink more water, too...some days are better than others, but will keep at it.

I live in NE Iowa in the Central Time Zone.

I can't pinpoint one particular thing that I changed, except I have been eating more fish than usual. The most important thing, I think, is that my mind is continually on what I eat and how much I eat.

Wow! Tisha is emoticon . Please everyone. Take a minute to read what she has to say and the advice she gives on healthy eating. She is amazing.

I have changed in so many ways, and over a long period of time. I'm not there yet - obviously. I'm a long, long way from it. But I'm proud of myself for the changes I have made.

1. More fruits and vegetables for sure
2. Added meatless days. I'm currently working on 3 meatless days per week. I like it, and I'm enjoying it. I feel great!
3. Water, lots of it. I found this winter that I slacked up on my water drinking. That is not a good thing at all. I could starve and not lose if I don't get enough water in me. I still am not sure how or why - but that's a fact for me. I'm building it back up again. I can drink green tea and it works as well for me as water too. But I enjoy water, with lots of ice and I sometimes add slices lemon, lime or orange. It just 'looks pretty.'
4. Rarely eat in the evening. That was a horrible habit I had. Now I make sure that I have plenty to eat that is healthy in the evening, i.e. cheese sticks, grapes, apples.

I'm reading a lot of healthy articles. Anything I can find. I'm learning and trying new recipes. I recently purchased the new Spark E-Book on vegetarian cooking/recipes.

Great topic, Jill. Thanks.

Have You changed what and the way You Eat since SparkPeople?

In what ways are you eating differently?

Maybe You are eating less junk food, more fruits & vegetables, some meatless meals, etc.

Please share what tweaks or changes you have made.

For me, I am eating healthier since joining SP but it's taken quite awhile to get it right. I'm happy to say that take-out food is a rare treat as I used to eat it more than I care to admit.

I also aim to eat at least 5 fruits/vegetables a day and that is an improvement for me but not the 9 a day Spark recommends. It's still something I need to improve on.

I rarely drink diet sodas now and believe me I was addicted to my diet Pepsi and overdid it. Now when I go out I might have one diet Pepsi but that is my limit.

I prepare more meatless meals now and part of the reason has to do with the fact that meat is just so expensive now. Beef used to be my favorite meat but now I eat far less of it than I used to. I use a lot of chicken and have found so many good and healthy recipes on SP. If you haven't tried a Spark recipe most of them are really tasty with less calories than most recipes.

Tisha, TUBLADY, an amazing Lady on our Team eats very healthy and recently did a great blog on some of the ways she eats now. Thank you, Tisha, for allowing me to share your blog with some of your healthy eating habits.
