Okay....diabetes is fairly well controlled with the medicine. Now I've GOT to do something about my weight! I have 60 pounds to lose which seems impossible so I'm going to break it down in 10 pound increments. emoticon

I am making good progress in controlling my diabetes. My numbers are pretty good and my A1C has dropped. emoticon

Some things that are low in carbs are high calorie but I am doing okay with that. I am allowed 11 servings of carbs each day but I use them wisely. I have high fiber bread and pasta which helps me feel full.....and I eat an apple or a banana when I feel hungry between meals. For me it's just a matter of finding what I can eat that keeps my blood sugar from spiking. Lots of trial and error right now!

Sorry to hear of your illness. I also must count carbs and no sugar. Hard to keep the calories down when counting the carbs. It seems everything low in carbs is high in calories. Do you find the same findings? Anyone have any ideas? Diane

I was just diagnosed with diabetes. I haven't felt well at all but diabetes? I was in shock when my doctor told me. I had a good cry when I got home. I've had a few days to process this and I've decided I have to take control so I'm back on Spark People and using this website to count my carbs. Hopefully this will help me be accountable for my food choices. emoticon
