emoticon Have you checked whether your town has a Food Co-Op? It's where we go when the local gardners and farmers are finished for the year. It's also a good place to find healthy foods that are not always in the local grocery store. emoticon

It's not really the right season, but growing your own, definitely both guarantees you know what was added or not added and cuts costs.

Still, you can start in small ways with herbs or sprouts.

Hubby has been very insistent about spending the money on places like Whole foods & trader joes since I'm pregnant. Their food is DEFINTLEY higher quality, but expensive! anyone have any ideas for sticking with the high quality and low chemical stuff but lowering the price tags?? emoticon
