I could use some advice on this, too--When I move, I will have a teeny tiny patio and a sliding glass door--I could maybe try growing some things, but I think I'd get starter plants... I don't know where to start, but I really want to have fresh veggies and herbs!!

Thanks! We have an onion that started growing. So we stuck it in a pot. It's currently in the kitchen window. We may move it to the living room in a couple weeks, we'll see how it does. Thanks for the ideas! They're always welcome!

What types of things can I grow in a garden that will be on a patio? I did a garden when I was in high school but that was many years ago and it was outside. I would love to know what I can grow and all the essentials needed to do it. My patio does not get A LOT of sun but at certain times of the day is gets some!

Give it a try and let us know. I was thinking the same thing. I have one big sliding door, don't use it much and it gets the morning sun. Same with the dining table. May give it a try. It's an inexpensive experiment to say the least
