I'm not in to eating breakfast, but today I decided to eat a healthy breakfast and I felt pretty good all day. Didn't feel the urge to snack like I typically do.

I walked in to work today with the burden of a cranky older car in the back of my mind (it failed to start last night) and found myself covering for a coworker in an unplanned, stressful and very sad circumstance. Her dad died last night so she's out today and will be out some time for next week.

I had also not brought anything for lunch, but I did not give in to the stress and graze mindlessly. I have a stash of Kashi bars, had a piece of fruit and made it through! VICTORY!

Prayers for Yvonne and her mom, please!

congratulations to everyone on doing something good for them today! i love reading the stories. today, i watched my breakfast intake. although it was 600 calories, they were filling calories with lots of good nutrients. lots of protein, calcium, etc. usually i would eat many empty, sugary calories. but not today...i watched what i ate and it felt great!
also, i logged in to sparkpeople. usually i would lose interest quickly in websites, but i have the motivation and i love this site! definitely good for me today (and tomorrow too)! emoticon

living la vida low carb (not to be mistaken with no carb) and loving it!

30 minutes on the elliptical 5x per week is roughly equal to 3000 cal burned & 18 miles pedaled!

i weigh in every day to see how my eating habits the previous day are affecting my weight. my saturday weigh in is my "official" weight.

Sounds like everyone is doing well so far.

I started the day once again with a planned, healthy breakfast at home and ate slowly. This is a goal since I've been in such a rush every morning lately and have formed a bad habit chowing down in the car or at work.

I've had my 8 cups of water.

I ate a light healthy lunch.

I have a light simple dinner planned as well.

Awesome you guys! I love to hear other peoples achievements and congratulate them. Today, my office wanted to get lunch from a fast food mexican place i've never eaten at before (Pollo Campenero?) I think is like KFC... anywhoo. I didn't want to mess up this healthy streak I'm on, so I went for a walk on my lunch break. When I came back, I mapped where I had walked. Almost 1.5 miles! Now I'm eating my grilled chicken and veggies feeling completely full.

You are doing great!

Generally when people avoid carbs they avoid: candy, chips, cookies, cakes, anything made with white flour or sugar.

You can not and should not avoid all carbs altogether. We need carbs. I forget why, but we do. I think our brain needs them to function properly. SP says I need at least 172. (My health range is 172-249.)

My mother is diabetic and she is supposed to have 45 per meal. I think she is supposed to have about 165 per day. ( 45 per meal plus 2 snacks at 15.)

Keep eathing those veggies and nuts, they are healthy!

Well, I THOUGHT I had no carbs, however all my veggies and almonds added to 50! Can you believe that? But I resisted the candy and chips in my kitchen!

So far today I:

I ate a good breakfast before leaving for work. And I didn't wolf it down in a hurry!
I measured my food for breakfast and lunch.
I packed a healthy lunch - homemade soup full of veggies.
And I have logged every bite.
I've even managed to get in most of my water already!
