I love the New York City Ballet Workout. The video production is beautiful - music, lighting, models, narration - plus it's easy to follow but still provides a challenging workout.

Lately, I've been mixing it up, doing step aerobics, Wii Fit and other strength training tapes.

Lately, lots of sweaty gardening. (you can hoe weeds at a cardio level - I checked!)

Also aerobic weight training and step aerobics

Hiking is great, I love in eastern PA lots of trails. Swimming can be fun too but not always an option. I love playing excercise games with my kids but I don't get a huge workout unless I'm alone. I don't own an eliptical but I used to use one at the gym way back when and really enjoyed it.

I am going to the gym two days on, one day off, two on, two off. I always get some cardio in. On all cardio days I like to use the variety program on the treadmill. On days that I only do 30 minutes of cardio I use the weight loss aerobic I setting. I am already starting to feel a difference in the way my clothing fits emoticon

I love the FIRM videos (yes, I still have mostly VHS) and step aerobics videos.

This summer, I've been walking up and down my driveway (it's very long) and also
doing a lot of sweaty gardening as well.

You ride your bike in the snow and ice? Surely you must be riding on plowed roads!

But I still don't see how you do it. My son tried riding his bike in the winter and broke his chain. It was too stiff with the cold. He kept breaking bikes each winter until finally he gave up.

For my cardio I commute everywhere by bicycle, even now in Northern Canada in the deep snow and ice, when I am in the gym I use the elliptical and the stationary cycle. In the spring and summer I also enjoy running however cycling is #1 for me 365/yr. emoticon

I am getting back into my elliptical again, I will be walking outside soon, yikes, next week, when I start doing the walking training with the school. May put in some jogging too this year. I tried out Leslie Smansone's Walking Away the Pounds yesterday, it was a good workout, my 2 girls joined me, the youngest only did a few minutes, the older did almost the whole thing, she needed a little break to get some water. My not so flexible hip flexers (sp) are sore though. emoticon

My mom got me a jogging stroller last year, so my son and I would go to a nature park with lots of trails a few times a week. There are some graded hills, plus pushing 60 extra pounds helped to get the heart pumping. I lost 15 lbs and gained so much energy from that. Then, we got sick, went to one car for the household, it got cold..... Not easy to walk around our place because we're in the city, and it's very hilly. I can't wait for it to warm up a little bit so that we can hit the trails again!!!

The less routine the more life.

I started out doing C25K but really have grown tired of it, and taken a break recently (though I tell myself, I'll start again). What I really love is the circuit training videos. My favorites are Jillian Michael's: 30 Day Shred, Boost Metabolism, Yoga Meltdown and 6 Week Abs. I also like Jackie Warner's Total Body Circuit.

I do the Yoga 3x's a week, the rest I fit into my schedule, doing 1 of them each day that I'm not doing yoga.

Variety is definitely key! I enjoy walking outdoors as much as possible, and I have a good place at home with a great incline. I love the peace and beauty of the woods and nature, however, there's always the weather. Summer temps in SC make it unbearable so Spring and Fall are best. Winter is good unles its bitter cold, but I walk much quicker in cool/cold.

My favorite form of exercise/cardio is Leslie Sansone's walk at home DVD's. Great cardio, ST, and toning. I have a variety so I don't get bored. I like the segments broken up into intervals so I can pick and choose workouts and length. I feel great and have shaped up nicely. I have always been so focused on weight loss, I never thought about seeing my figure again nor firming up a bit. I'm more excited over this aspect now and have gone down a couple of clothes sizes too.

I also purchased an elliptical last summer for added variety. It's difficult to go very long, but I add it in and make it part of a workout or on days I need a short, beneficial workout.

Dear Lord, set my sights on You and Your great attributes. Help me to live in Your presence, dependent on Your guidance each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In the summer I love bike riding.
Last fall I tried aquafit - not my cup of tea.
I enjoy walking, but not quite so much in the winter.
I have enjoyed some videos, but admit I get tired of them.

One key for me is variety. Especially with the walking, it helps if I can vary the route. Near my mom's it's great. The route doesn't change, but it's near the water, I like that. Plus it is hilly. Walking up the hill is a nice semi-gentle, but good workout for me. (Not like running, but inclines are good for me.)

What are your favorite cardio workouts?

Diane
