Stocking Stuffers are the hardest for my 12 yr DS. I have his stocking about 1/2 full. The girls were easy, I am at almost over-stuffed, aka another present.

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find a memorable gift. I agree, it is important to find a gift that the recipient is going to enjoy. Otherwise what is the point?

I like to find small gifts that people will really like. I buy for nieces and nephews as well as my parents, children, and husband. It can really add up!

Stocking stuffers are a challenge too!

We started shopping, the 2 car shopping trips. I lucked out the first trip it had snowed and hubby had the kids with him, so when they asked if they could come with me I said I was scared to drive in the snow and had to be by myself, which was partially true. Last weekend was hubby's turn to shop while I had the kids.

Carla, I remember back when money was tight, one year we had $10 each to spend on ds and $10 on each other. I usually try and bake cookies but his family doesn't want them and last year I couldn't get any to mine, luckily I didn't bake much.

We don't do many cards either, we try and focus on family.

Carla, if you buy presents for some nieces and bake for some close friends, then I would say that you do celebrate Christmas - unless you are buying those presents to celebrate Chanukah or another holiday. You just have cut it down to what works for you.

We all need to do that. I tend to not do the baking thing. I also don't send a lot of cards. I have started sending more e-cards than regular ones. I really enjoy looking at them online.

Some families put names in a hat and draw one. I have discussed that with my family, but it did not fly. It works for some families though.

I just don't do the Christmas thing. I buy a few presents for some nieces, and I bake for some close friends. My family are scattered everywhere, I don't really see them, and they know the financial situation I'm in. So I just really don't do Christmas.

Time is the coin of life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it is spent.

Wow Fittobe you got an early start. I try every year but somehow I manage to be in the store on Christmas eve. I am starting this weekend. I'm gonna start with Mom and sisters since they out of state.

I am finished Christmas shopping, except for wrapping paper/ribbon, and creative wrapping for gift cards and cash. I try to make it fun at least. My side of the family lives in Minnesota, so I get their stuff done early and get the boxes on the way around the first week of December. I just need to wrap them up first.

I also have my Christmas cards, list and labels all ready for me to complete.

I really enjoy having this all done ahead of time, so I can focus on Christmas activities and not feel stressed.

Dear Lord, set my sights on You and Your great attributes. Help me to live in Your presence, dependent on Your guidance each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

I have and I haven't. (Someone got an early Christmas present.)

Do you have plans for keeping that spending in check?
I guess number one on my list is taking inventory from last year!

Now where did I put those Christmas cards that I bought last year?
