Hang in there. I understand how frustrating it is. Ive been trying to heal an ankle tendon but think am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep pushing along and it will heal. Be patient as you can be and yell if you have to. Just know it will heal. Maybe this is God's way of giving you time to take it easy. Ive just started to be able to do things again and ugh, i forgot how much I used to do. Ive definately learned to delagate and plan on continuing. Stay strong.

Hello Paula,
I am sorry to hear that your arm is not healing as expected. It is totally understandable to feel upset and frustrated. And it is okay to go ahead and cry if you want to. And then believe. Believe that you will heal. Believe that you will continue on your journey to good health. Believe that you have support from the Spark Community. Don't stop believing! emoticon

you have every right to feel a little sorry for yourself right now.. I know I don't like to be a burden on anyone and if you have to go through surgery that means another recovery period.. I hope you see some healing soon~

I know only too well how frustrating it is when your body doesn't act as it should. I don't usually let anyone close to me see when I am upset either. Sometimes, you just need to be alone and fee sorry for yourself. The important part is not to let it last to long, and get the better of you. It is okay to feel sorry for yourself for awhile, but then you have to get right back to work. Your bones will heal, it might just take longer than you expect, after all everyone is different. Things always seem to heal better in the summer. Just keep your spirits up and don't give up!

Positive thinking is a big help. Try seeing you as all healed, see yourself as perfect in every way. Do not allow any negative thinking to cross your mine. I have seen this work several times. One of my adopted children was in a very bad motor cycle accident. Her feet and legs were crushed. They had to use steel pins to hold the bones in place while she healed. We prayed and did the visualizations for two weeks. Her doctor had to rush her into surgery to remove the pins because she was healing too fast. The emergency room doctor had told her she would not walk again. He was almost right, she runs marathons. Miracle's happen every day and only you can make it happen. Eat healthy every day. Protein is very important for healing. The other girls are right about the calcium but you must have magnesium to make it work. Women require half the amount of magnesium to calcium. I take 1000mg calcium to 500mg magnesium every day. Most people do not get the magnesium they need and that is one of the glues that hold us together. Keep your protein lean, fish, chicken and don't forget beans but watch those calories. Stay positive, I post notes all over the house to remind myself how good I am doing. I ask all those who want to help, to see Paula as healed. Your love is a big help also.

Dear God, May there be less of me tomorrow! We can do it together.

Maybe dodging the 200 people group hugging will help though - they would break all the rest of the bones in your body too!! emoticon
Ahh!! Its a virtual group hug - they just make you feel all warm and fuzzy!!

Hi Paula !!
Ann is absolutely spot on!
It will take time, and winter is always notorious for slow healing of anything.
You may need to talk to a therapist ..maybe your doctor will put you onto one.
You need to get the blood flowing to that area of your body ..
Gentle exercise in that area will help enormously but you much have professional assessment before you attempt anything physical.

Keep eating well and healthily, make sure you do exercise the rest of your body and try to keep your chin up!!.
Metaphorically speaking of course.
Hugs Susie.

Sometimes bones take time to heal - longer than "average" - we are all different - we have different rates of healing as much as we have different ideas and facial features!!
Also its winter there - as with plants - the body can slow in the winter- the darker dull days tend to make the body cycles slow a bit!! Remember too that without sunshine there is little natural vitamin D about (sunshine vitamin) and that is used with calcium to re-build bone.
Hang in there - keep doing all the "right" things - maybe increase your calcium intake - yogurt, milk, cheese (low fat) etc - but without going crazy!!

If you have a binge- you will only feel bloated and guilty - not worth it!!
Find a good book, write to friends, do something, anything to keep yourself busy, your mind occupied!!

We've all here with you - imagine that - about 200 people all telling you to "hang in there" - and giving you one GREAT BIG GROUP emoticon

OK I admit it I am probably feeling sorry for myself and being pathetic. I had a Fracture Clinic appointment today and found out my right humerus that was operated on 26th January is still not knitting together. I feel so upset right now. I am doing everything I can eating well, exercising the arm as told to 3 times a day. IF it does not show signs of healing in 6 weeks time then they will do a bone graft. That means another operation on the arm and bone taken from my right hip.
I have no idea why it is not healing and neither do they.
DH is wonderful he helps me out and is there for me. I try not to show him how upset I am as he hates to se me upset so I hide how I feel sometimes. Daft really but I know getting all upset and crying will not alter anything.
I need someone to say keep going as no one can do anything it is either going to heal or not.
