They are increasing my hours at work for a while. I hope that I am up to the increase. I will need to get up and walk around to keep my back and hips from becoming too painful. I do love my job though so emoticon

It is a beautiful, sunny day out. Supposed to be getting up to 65 degrees. I did 300 steps this morning and plan to do more later. Also did some chair core exercises. Woohoo. I want to get out and do some walking. Starting to come together slowly. Moving right along.

Adjusting to my new eating plan and riding my recumbent bike daily. I am also chair marching when I am on the computer and did 1000 steps yesterday. I'm learning to find little exercises that I can do through the normal day that do not tax my breathing and OA and vocal cords. emoticon

Hello all! I hope you are having a great weekend. I recently had a full leg cast for a dislocated knee, and instead of feelling pitiful, I started doing my physical therapy (in the chair) for my other knee to make it stronger to carry the load of my bod. I feel so good to do something, and it is good for me too!

Susie, thank you for the sweet words. Wow, you are having some really hot weather! It is about 45 degrees here in the mid-USA. Perfect weather for me is about 75-80 degrees, sunny and a gentle breeze. I don't like it if it is to hot or cool. This 45 degree weather isn't to bad.

Hi Everyone!!.
It is so hot here in Mildura I have both the evaporative and the split-system air-cons on.

We are averaging over 100 degrees every day!.

Sorry to hear some of you and your loved ones are not well, hoping you are feeling better very soon! .
I also hope that the carers amongst us are looking after ourselves as well .

We are coming to the end of the first month of this year .. How did it go so fast ?.

Marilyn:
Glad to hear your DH is improving, I am sure it it your bright and positive attitude that is helping.

Tracy:
I am sorry you are starting to feel so unwell with the program your doctor has you on . Perhaps you need to supplement your diet with some really good vitamin and mineral capsules ..
you may also need a iron supplement but your doctor is the best person to see about that .
Hope you feel better soon my friend ..

Hope you are enjoying the chair exercises... They are designed specifically for the mobility challenged .. I do at least 30 mins a day .. and I m feeling great! .

I have to vacuum my bedroom every day as my doggies hairs get everywhere .
I hope the issues concerning your brother and his family are sorted out soon it is so hard to see people we love having problems !!.

Prayers are still going out to you and Ben. What good news to hear too. In all honesty, I sincerely believe Ben will do better at home, than in the hospital. Especially when his immune system is so low.

Tracy, glad you are getting those tests out of the way so you can have your surgery.

I lost yesterday--had a migraine and still do not feel my best today. But I can get out of bed and that's good!!

Sharmae, thank you for the hugs and prayers. They are most appreciated. Ben's primary care doctor told him yesterday he has pneumonia. The doctor didn't put him in the hospital which surprised me but increased his antibiotic. Ben says he is feeling better today; he dozed most of the day in his recliner. He can't sleep in the bed right now; laying down makes it harder to breath because of the fluid in his left lung. I have noticed he has not done as much coughing today and I don't think he is as swollen as he has been either. Thank God

Today has been a bright, sunny, peaceful day.

I started doing some chair marching yesterday and I think it is something I can actually do. I am lifting my legs as high as they will go and counting to 300 each time which is about 300 steps and about 5 minutes. Yesterday I got in 20 minutes. It is 100% more activity than I have been doing and it is not all that easy. LOL Thanks for this team and the wonderful people here who support each other and encourage those of us with issues to get moving, just get moving. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart



If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up!

Doctors! Doctors! Doctors! My husband has a doctor's appointment tomorrow for the third day in a row. Chemo today! Other two appointments because of an infection in his lungs. It is wearing him out.

I called the cardiologist office today -- they are supposed to be doing a test on me at the hospital so I can have another test to ready me for surgery... next week I go to the pulmonologist then the 9th my endocrinologist.

Tracyzabelle, I know that tired feeling. For years I felt that way, plus pain kept me from exercising. Well, after reading article and article about RA & MS, I learned that I needed to exercise. Hello everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new. I am 46 very obese and need to pay attention to my health. Since Jan 2 I have lost 12 lbs and feel motivated. Another thing you should know about me is I had hernia surgery Jan 9th and am recovering so my mobility is limited to walking right now and cannot lift more than 5 lbs! I believe that 2012 will be the year that I finally take control of my health!

Hello:

We are having very high winds in New York State. Many of my neighbors' roofs and siding are in my yard. I am hoping my above ground pool is still standing. Half the fence around it has been blown away.

Today is Chinese New Year in my house. In the prior years we went out to celebrate. This year I am surprising my beautiful 100% Chinese daughter with a celebration at home. Sure hope it will make her happy.

Today I have been re-arranging my bedroom, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, the dog hair that has found a home in all the crevasses. emoticon
No wonder as soon as I go to bed my allergies start up.

After weighing in yesterday I have lost another 4.2 lbs on my journey to a healthier life.emoticon
I am full of energy today, but I am still babying my injured leg, my doc saw all the bruises and ordered an x-ray, maybe tomorrow I will go get it. I have been able to walk on it since it happened, but he is concerned that there may be a hair line fracture from the way it happened.
I had an emotional week and some heart-ache which involved my brother and his family.
But we have put it in God's hands and will leave it to Him to sort out.
I send Blessings out to everyone and hope the new week brings only goodness and happiness, Hugs Tammy emoticon

I just recently started doing a Jodi Stolove Sit & Tone DVD; I couldn't make it through the whole thing at first, but now I can do the whole workout, even though I can't do it with the weights the entire time, because my shoulders get too tired, but I just do the moves without the weights. I will keep on trying though, and one day, I will use the weights for the entire workout.

I am not techy either...
I went to the center and got in 50 min on the bike - another 10 on other sitting equipment.. yeh me !!!
I want to know - all these mag and sites say get in 10,000 steps and more to loose weight - why don't they think of those who can't and say " and if you are not able to --- do this "..... so aggravating - people do not realize until they are in that situation...

emoticon I did do my 15 minutes on the recumbent yesterday. My helper is coming this morning to help with the things I am having trouble with. She will be here 3 hours a week and that will be such a help for those things like vacuuming.
I wanted to do my chair dancing DVD but I don't have the machine hooked up right. I guess I need to find a teenager to put it and the printer in functioning order. I am not a tech person for sure!

After feeling like I was choking after the CT scan yesterday I used the lifters for my bed last night. I tend to slide down and fight it most of the night but the hiatal hernia is acting up again and I need to find some relief. I did do a Wally World walk today and plan to ride the recumbent during BL. I also bought some decongestant things to put in the vaporizer today. I will see if it helps at all. I will just keep trying things, maybe something will work. emoticon

Spurs on our feet are calcified bone and the only way to get rid of them is by operating.
I had a successful op on my toes and spurs last year it was only day surgery and I recovered well. I had been putting up with the pain for years .. so glad I had it done ... I am walking miles now!!

I did some new old movement today. I really felt motivated and felt very proud after.
I received some good news and not so good new today in the mail. It will be tomorrow before I can begin to straighten things out and my anxiety is through the roof. I expect nightmares tonight due to a probable trigger to my PTSD. Please keep positive thoughts for me.

glad you are feeling a little better...
I am doing the jump start challenge and I liked todays video sitting and just bending... I was also able to get in 65+ min on the bike at the senior center while chatting with a friend.. blood sugars are back to my normal today.. hope they stay .. see foot doc tomorrow..
does anyone else have heel bone spurs ?? and how do you make them go away if you do - shots and meds do not work on me.. doc knows that too...

Today I actually feel as if I am going to live, yesterday was questionable, I slept all day and all night. Woke up this morning feeling much much better.......emoticon My ankle and just above it on the front of my leg is still pretty bruised, I am just thankful nothing got broken, and my brother and Daymon saved me from falling over with my hover round, which would have landed on top of me, it could have been MUCH worse than a few bruises, thank GOD.
I will take it easy so I don't have an other set back, but after eating just 2 slices of plain wheat toast yesterday I am starting today off eating 2 clementines.
My stomach is still a bit queezy, but nothing like yesterday.
So, I will keep moving forward to my gaol...slowly but surely, and wish the same for everyone, Hugs and Smiles Tammy

I just got over that awful flu virus that hit our area hard. I have some news about SparkPeople, they were highly recommend as a good origination program for our daily living on a television show in St. Louis, Mo. USA, emoticon We are still waiting to hear about brother-in-laws heart sugary. He has his cat scan Thursday should know something then. Keep him in your prayers.
