I made oatmeal raisin cookies, (a low fat recipe,) but I had problems stopping with just one cookie. I have the same problem stopping with just one piece of banana bread and that is why I don't bake either very often.

Hi there ! I've had to change my username because someone used (sunshine1_2) to send spam. So I'm not new here:
I now have developed another way that I like to use Bananas. I make a very refreshing frozen dessert with them, using other fruit juices, fruit and low fat milk, Put everything in the blender, blend until nice and creamy (some get frozen) the rest is used almost as finished. this is another way i make sure i get in my fruit requirement for the day. emoticon

Some foods are definitely tough for me to leave after just one portion. I've gotten better at recognizing those foods, though, and finding ways to be healthy with them. Some, I just stopped buying (like ice cream.)
Today's lunch is homemade vegetarian chili, carrot sticks, and pretzels. For a snack I have an apple and a stick of light string cheese. Yum!

I haven't met too many foods that I could just leave be on the counter...but as I'm changing and progressing in this journey to have a healthy relationship with food...I'm finding things way more manageable in practicing restraint.

Awe, thanks ladies. I didn't have anymore and I let the kids finish it off. It all worked out in the end. Good idea for drinking a full glass of water with a piece. I'll have to remember that next time.

Homemade banana bread is a thing I could over-eat on, so I only make it if we are having a bake sale or on special request from some-one who will colect it almost as soon as it is finished. This works for me,one small piece with a glass of water just before going into the garden. Good luck !

Hey all,

I ate too much banana bread for a snack today but I did stop myself and I did run/hike 6 miles, so I ended up needing the fuel. I'm eating a healthy portion of mixed greens with pumpkin seeds and healthy dressing, apple slices, baby carrots and some almonds.

Is your lunch healthy today?
