Way to go taking as much ownership as you can under the circumstances! Where I usually go for jury duty, they have a very expensive cafe in the courthouse for the jurors with healthy and unhealthy options. It's also right across the street from my bank, in downtown, so there are what sounds like more options than you have! Dual purpose lunch - I like that! You choose healthy food and get some exercise! KUDOS!

I am on jury duty this week. I have been on the eating plan for the past 2 weeks and I have lost 8 lbs. Here is the problem. On jury duty as you all know is a hurry up and wait game. You just sit there and just sit there. Well that's the way it is in Memphis. I realized yesterday that I can wreck all of the progress I have made by the options the restaurants have to offer. Yesterday I had a turkey burger but they did not offer a whole grain bun. Instead of fries I opted for fresh fruit which was delicious. So this is day two and I brought some healthy snacks with me and I am going to take a two mile walk to this restaurant which offers more healthy choices. You have to be your own advocate when it comes to healthy eating choices at these local eateries I have learned.
