Have you tried differnt veggies and cooked in different ways. I add veggies to pasta, and make meatloaf using veggies in that. Sometime that will help you to start getting more veggies. Give it a try and see.

wow! Are you sure you don't like any vegetables? Maybe it's the way they were cooked. I've learned to like quite a few as I've gotten older and expanded my cuisine styles. To me, soup is the way to go - chopped the veggies small, cook them down, and gradually add in more varieties, and more quatities while cutting the meat. Lately I've been eating spinach and believe, me, I didn't come to that easily.

Same with fish - ocean fish tasted awful after growing up with fresh water only but now I like them both; just some more than others. I find that like kids, if I fix it myself, I'm more likely to eat it. Poached trout is easy to do and the flavor is mild. I lay it in a pan half filled with water and sliced lemons and simmer for a few minutes. Carefully flip over, cover and cook a couple more minutes. Remove from heat and place fish onto paper. Starting at the midline, use side of fork to peel away the skin. Lift flesh from the skeleton and work thru the whole fish in about four sections: two upper and two lower. Serve with homemade tartar sauce (lt mayo, fresh lemon juice, dill relish) and more fresh lemon juice with some boiled red potatoes, & maybe a little cabbage slaw. My hubby swore he hated fish until I served this and now he eats all types.
You probably need to slowly wean yourself off of the fried and processed foods then your taste buds will adapt to your new diet. Go slowly and keep trying different foods. You will be surprised how much of what we eat is a habit, and those can be changed.

Meantime, eat more quinoa, tofu, chicken, eggs, lean beef and legumes. All are good sources of protein.

I cannot stand vegetables or fish ... that leaves me out of many foods. Does anyone have any ideas?

I try to eat filling foods, lean protein, fruits and veggies to keep me satisfied. I have a real problem if I eat sweets. Then I'm hungry all day.

reductil is a name used in some places for the US prescription drug Meridia(sibutramine).

It is not OTC, you need to get it from a doctor. It has the possibility of major (possibly fatal) side effects.

I don't take pills, as I am afraid of a drug interaction with my other medications. I think it is important to eat quite a bit in the early part of the day. Insufficient calories in the morning makes for binging at night. Also, eat breakfast! I think that smaller meals at regular intervals during waking hours keeps your metabolism high!

For a couple of months, smaller portions worked for me and I lost about 1 lb. per week.

The last two weeks, I just cannot seem to get full. I didn't lose any weight last week and I'm afraid about today's weigh in too.

Any thoughts?

There is a way of not thinking about food and that is asking your Doctor for REDUCTIL it for slimming and wot it does is stops the functions in your brain that tells you your hungry, it turns them of for most of the day, I to was skinning but now im older well 39 just cant do it any more, i got the tablets and i only eat once a day, it takes time to work about the second mth your on them but its great, its a slow progress but im loosing 2 lb in each mth, Try it or go to the Doctors for a blood test for festing as also there could be something else wrong that you dont know about, Well if you try it let me know how you get on.

I will take controll over my body and lose the weight and then when i ever see my youngest daughter,s dad i will just walk right past and smile, I had his only Daughter and because i put abit on when she was born he left me saying i dont do fat woman and he as not even sin his daughter since she was 18mths old, She is now 5yr and 4mths, Well its his loss not mine.

When I was 27 and younger, I was always hungry, and ate all the time, and I weighed 105! I could eat anything and never gain a pound! Now that I am 159 and almost 39 years old, I am still always hungry and just the site of food will make me gain weight! I am drinking about 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of water a day, and even this does nothing for my hunger! But I do have pretty good will power and am staying on track of my calories for the day. I so far have lost a pound, and will loose all of them! But I am not sure if there is a way to control hunger! You just have to have lots of will power!

Same here i eat fruit or a cereal bar if i get the urge to eat something, That tends to keep me going till tea time.x

I have been eating smaller meals more often, and making sure I get plenty of protein. Cottage cheese, small portion of nuts, and Greek Yogurt stave off hunger for a long time.

I agree with smaller portions. It really helps. I do get hungry and will not eat right away, and when I do eat I eat healthy and not a lot. It helps. I also drink a lot of water.

Being hungry is all in the mind, As people eat when they are bored or up-set, If you dont think of things then some people are ok, Ive been getting REDUCTIL from the chemist and that shuts the brain of for being hungry, I can say that it work,s a treat, Since being on the tablets i have lost 4lbs and i have only been on them for just over a month, I only eat 1 meal a day as they dont make you feel hungry, They are great, Also try doing a jigsaw puzzle and keep your mind from being bored.x

some days very little makes me feel full . other days i need a whole roasted pig to make me full . how? why? wish i knew . am trying to roast veg. and make better choices from the old french fries . adding more salads and vegetables . less meat and more beans . smaller plates . whole wheat bread . all wee things to do . when hunger pangs hit hold on its going to be a bumpy ride . there she blows ..

I agree about the smaller portions. I also have been able to curb my hunger by drinking water. That will usually hold off my need to eat right NOW.

hmmmm, I can't say I totally agree with this.
I am overweight, but my worst habit has been to try and let myself get hungry, and then I eat to big of helpings. I have had much more success with the small portions, many times a day, so basically eating every 2-3 hours, but just small amounts.

I can't tell you how many of my overweight clients tell me they're never hungry. If this is true, then why aren't they slim, trim, and nowhere near my office? Here's why: They're not hungry because they never let themselves get hungry. They're so afraid of a little rumbling in their tummies that they pop something into their mouths to satisfy the slightest hint of hunger. Worse yet, some even eat so as to stave off future hunger.

Naturally thin people, on the other hand, recognize slight to moderate hunger for what it is — an uncomfortable sensation that will neither last nor do any permanent damage. They intuitively understand that we're not in a famine and that food is generally a quick walk or car ride away. They know they won't die of hunger, because they learned in high school biology that people can live for days without food. Because of their non-alarmist attitude, they're often able to ignore their hunger till food is available.

My advice to overweight people who are never hungry is to actually let yourself experience hunger once in a while. Doing so will help you to deal with it the way naturally thin people do.
