I know you are not supposed to go to the grocery store hungry. I shouldn't read this site hungry either

There is a fridge at my work but I almost never use it. I *like* yogurt and cottage cheese at near-room temperature. But, of course, if I don't eat my lunch I wouldn't eat it for dinner (usually) and I definitely wouldn't save it for the next day.

Ice packs are inexpensive and work great, though.

you could always get an insulated lunch box and throw a cold pack in it. then you could bring my favorite lunch staples: lunchmeat sandwiches on whole wheat bread, low fat cottage cheese, and carrot sticks or an apple. not too exciting, but it's tasty and simple. :)

I love the campbells selects soups, only 100-130 cal for the whole can, just bring a plastic container to heat it up. I usually have some wheat crackers with it, or today I brought the applesauce oatmeal muffin that i made (recipe on sparkrecipe site) only 200 cal for entire lunch!

How about bringing some home made soup in a thermos?

Or, a thermos keeps things COLD also. So maybe keep your chilled food in that till you can microwave it? I've often brought a salad to work in a thermos (sounds weird but if you can buy one of those wide-mouth ones?)

I am often on the run and tend to eat out, trying to stop that but I am bored with microwave meals that don't need refrigerration and I need some meal ideas. I can microwave at work but not keep my food cold
