Welcome to the team. It is awful to hear your doctor say what you already know. Does he realize how hard that is?! Of course not, but you made the right decision coming here. I just joined the group yesterday but have been sparking for a few months. I love the support and motivation that everyone offers. If I can offer you anything please do not hesistate to ask!!!

Hello! My name is Abbycsr and I've just joined the group. This is all new to me so if I mess up, please excuse me. I'm from British Columbia, Canada and have been told by my doctor I need to lose weight. Yeah, right. Easy for him to say. I need to lose a lot of weight. How to do it is another burden. So I thought I'd try through joining Sparkpeople. I'm a great one for eating emotionally since I've had a pretty bad upbringing and first marriage but I won't bore you with the details. So I'm a 61 year old female that is happily living with a wonderful man who treats me like a queen and doesn't find my obesity disgusting and says he loves me if I'm skinny or fat. How can I not love this man? We share 4 beautiful grandchildren and a dog that we rescued and life is good. But it could be better if I could just lose this weight. So that's about it. Looking forward to meeting people here and sharing tips.
