I have another question - this time about BodyFlex - well maybe it applies to all 3 types of breathing exercises.. Do you ever have a problem with timing your breathing exercises? Sometimes I can't get some privacy so that I can do my breathing exercises before breakfast. After that, it's hard to find a time when my stomach is empty and I have a little privacy.
Don't worry about the huffs and puffs and the tilt thing. All I do is the intake and outtake like Jill suggests and suck in like Greer tells us to do and hold it for 8. You will still get that little vacuum efftect. It takes a little practice to combine them but it is a breeze once you get the hang of it.
Rosalie, I just smile as big as a I can with my mouth closed and it works pretty good. I can still get in plenty of air on the intake. I have gotten so I do the O! breathing technique and stick with my BF moves. I can O! in the car with the girls, do a little in the office, at home, anywhere and unless you are really paying attention to what I am doing, you would never know. I got the O! tapes but I can't keep up with the workout. I do use the commuter CD sometimes, but really I just do it on my own when I am watching TV or when I think about it, on the road while I am driving. I love Greer and her moves, but Jill's way is so much quieter and I don't have to worry about the family laughing at me. I am with Connie there on the benefit of O! in public, but I won't give up my BF moves.
The only BF DVD I can find is with the gym bar, if you have the bar, you don't need the DVD because the workout is on the bar. It offers great resistance training.
Good luck and good for you for learning all the techiques!!!!!!!!!
I haven't gotten into the Oxycise! enough yet to know which I prefer. They're both great as far as I can tell. I figure if I can mix it up a bit I'll be able to stay with my breathing exercises (sometimes I sort of peter out).
That's so funny about your little audience. My husband cracks up every time he hears/sees me doing BodyFlex. It is hilarious when you think about it that way.
I'm happy to learn about BodyFlex DVDs, I didn't know Greer made any.
Thank you again. I'm comforted to know that I'm not the only one who has had to work at the technique.
Rosalieesther, I press my tounge against my teeth while I breath in so I can't breath in air. The blowing out through flat lips takes some practice and I still have to remind myself. My family is home when I do my Oxycise and it's no big deal, but if I try to do bodyflex breaths...I get an audience who thinks I'm nuts, and I can't concentrate, and everyone ends up laughing, including me... so I do bodyflex breaths when no one is around.
I remember when I recieved the Bodyflex tapes in the mail. I was home alone and it was my first time actually seeing the videos. Greer started off with the basic breath and face exercises. I felt like I was on Candid Camera because it was so strange..lol. But it works! So I use both breaths, but mostly the Oxycise. Let us know which is your favorite! I found some used Bodyflex DVD's on Amazon for a great price. I should get them by Wednesday:) Keep breathing!!!

Life has no remote. Get up and change it yourself.
I just started watching my Oxycise! tape and I'm very excited about learning it. Maybe it will just get better as I do it more (you know I may not be able to walk and chew gum at the same time!) but I am having a hard time breathing in only through my nose while my mouth is open in a big grin. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm not sure I can get my lips to go flat on the exhale.
