You have already made the all important step to come here to Sparkpeople. And you are participating - that's what really does the trick. Right On Tricia!

I'm so glad you started this topic. Let's see 4 years ago. I don't exactly remember, but I was pretty heavy - not like I got up to, but heavier than I'd been in a long long time. I felt real self conscious being heavy. But that seemed to just make me eat more and more junk food. I was full of shame and self dislike.

My mother was clearly not doing well and I hated that. I tried to make her better but mostly things didn't work.

I gotta say, I'm in a much better place these days. I love SparkPeople too. I think it is awesome and truly is the way to go. Thank you everyone!

Well I can't remember exactly, but I was unemployed at the time, staying at home with my then, four year old daughter. Bored at the house because you can only clean the house so many times a day and being at home with the kitchen calling my name was NOT a good thing. It was the extra push that added to my horrible weight gain. As much as I loved being at home with my daughter, Laurel, being at work keeps me out of the kitchen at home. I really have to watch those temptations. I love my job and glad I have it!

Glad I can tell this little story to so many that can understand what it is like. I love it here at SPARK!

Spark on everybody! Maybe by the next leap year, I can say I met my goal!

Taking a deep breath......

Tricia
