Use more time in the kitchen and less time worrying about how my home looks.. Bottom line, can't take a super clean house with you when you die- but how you leave this world depends on the time we put into our bodies and how dependant we are on other people in old age..
I want to die old, wiser and without pestering my family to care for me.. We hold alot of cards how we live our lifes..
It ain't about getting as many cheat calories into our daily totalts as possible.. It is about cholestrol not giving jack and taking out people whom think they are smart.. Thin fat people drop dead in my family, they are up and down rakes- they need help from nutritionists not to loss weight and have to be careful exercising not to loss weight..
I am trying to zero more in what I eat, max my exercise efforts- and do it for the right reasons without complaints. I loved my husband, it was no trouble being a care giver for him and miss him, but "I" never want to be a pest to my family if I can avoid it with self responsiblity...
I have a system that works, it is now more fine tuning..

"I shall shape my future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me. Or I can be lost in the maze. My choice. My responsbility. Win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny."

Be able to stay focused & on track toward my goals even when life gets in the way...I have a tendency to get caught up in being all things to all people in my life & quickly lose focus of what's important to me personally...

No more dieting of any kind. I will just watch what I eat and track it. I would also love to get under 160 lbs. Haven't been there in at least 5 or more years!

First-- & most importantly, grow closer to God. It's not HIM that moved, it was me.
Second--have a higher metabolism, so that I have more energy, & I won't feel so fatigued.
Third--get out of debt, so I've got to quit spending.

Most importantly I want to break free of binge eating. I know that my overweight is just a symptom of the bingeing. I feel more ready than ever. I'm praying that this is my year. After 35 years of using food to deal with emotions, I don't want to hit the big 5-0 (in about 16 months) and then have to deal with bingeing for the next half (yes, I'm optimistic, LOL) of my life.

Numbers 6:24-26 (New International Version)

24 "The LORD bless you
and keep you;

25 the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;

26 the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace."

I also feel better on a low sugar/low carb type diet. I successfully lost about 40 lbs a few years ago and stayed on the diet for about 2 years before I fell off the wagon. I also feel more energetic, my brain feels more alert and I am less hungry on a low carb/low sugar diet. Good luck to you.

My goal this year is to get to the gym 2 to 3 days a week for weight training.

"When you no longer believe that eating will save your life when you feel exhausted or overwhelmed or lonely, you will stop. When you believe in yourself more than you believe in food, you will stop using food as if it were your only chance at not falling apart. When the shape of your body no longer matches the shape of your beliefs, the weight disappears. And yes, it really is that simple."

I've completed week of the 9 week Couch Potato to 5K program...i needed a goal too...so my goal is to do a half-marathon in July.
I'm also cutting sugar this year...i know that goal isn't for everyone, but I really think my body doesn't do well with it and I will feel better without it.

Happy New Year and Best Blessings to you All!!!

It's funny that you put this out there because I needed to see in words what I am feeling about this coming year and how I wanted to do some things differently. So now I can do that, which by the way is something I am going to do differently, write more daily.

But really I want to start really giving back. I don't really know how yet and what I'll give but I know that I have to start doing that in order to start getting in life what I need, like a healthier lifestyle. Maybe by staying busy in doing for others, I will have less idle time to sit and feed my face. LOL
Thanks for putting this out!

Peace, Joy & Healthy Blessings

I am going to attend church weekly. I got badly hurt at the other church I attended for 10 yrs. So I quit church, but I didn't quit on God. Read my bible daily. Those are the 2 most important goals for me. Then I'm going to get myself on a walking schedule, & try to cut as much sweets as humanly possible.

Have a wonderful & positive & energetic day!!

There are quite a few things that I want differently. Too start I want to eat better and feel better! I want more positive things going on than negative and less stress!! As to how to get the last things I don't know yet!

Happy Fall!

Anyone like to share with the rest of the team what they would like to do differently in 2009? I know for me I need to set a goal and really stick to it. I hope we all have new goals and provide lots of support to our team members.
