I can so relate to this thread! I am experiencing occassional hot flashes and on top of that monthly pms which as you mentioned is worse than ever. I have the mood swings rather than the eating binges. I simply don't know which one is worse though. I try to practice keeping my mouth shut when I feel 'that way', but sometimes it is comforting to eat myself through it. I will definately try the ice with the choc milk treat.

Good for you and leaving your family intact!! That adding ice sounds like a winner, will have to try that and put it in a blender for a couple of whirls. I have not tried the quaker mini delights, but that will be on my next list. thank you!

I took your suggestion last evening. I took a tall glass and filled it 1/2 with crushed ice, then added equal parts skim milk & low fat chocolate milk, and added a small dollop of whipped cream on top, just to be decadent. I had that with a snack size pack of the new Quaker Mini Delights Chocolate drizzle. It was wonderful and I didn't want to eat an entire cheesecake after. I actually felt mentally satisfied (PMS & all!!) didn't scream at anyone in the process, & don't feel guilty about what I ate today. No regrets!
THANK YOU!

The oreo thins worked. I finally got my scales and they "sparked" some happiness into my day, especially since I was not expecting this much of a weight loss!!! They also have some chocolate chip thins that are also tasty as well!!

I love your ideas of the thin crisp oreos and chocolate milk! I will definitely try it, especially since your family is still speaking to you! LOL!!

I have found that IF I take some ibprophen the day or two ahead of my "monthly", it eases the symptoms and grumpyness. The cravings still come hard and fast so I am preparing myself with before hand snacks such as the oreo thin crisps (100 calories) and then I cover them with melted fudge (about 2 oz.) and drink some 1% chocolate milk along with it so that I have my fix yet stay within my calorie/fat allowance. I know this works as this was me a couple of days ago, and my family is still speaking to me with smiles!!!
My biggest thing is to get some working scales since I have not really been able to weigh and since THAT part of the month is over, I would like to see what the results of my diet and exercise changes are, I have already lost one whole inch!!!

I agree with Donna. I'm almost 44 and suffer from virtually no PMS. I always heard it get's easier. Exercising helps this tremendously. Yup, you may be entering the next phase of your life. All the best

Has anyone else found that once you turned 40, and went off BC, your PMS symptoms have become worse? I could probably knock one of my children over today running for the ice cream man and still polish off a bag of popcorn along with it if I had the chance...I am trying so hard to be good but it is a major conscious effort. I don't remember the cravings ever being this bad. Emotionally I am good, only because I worked out, and took my GNC-PMS formula (which of course is now discontinued). So any suggestions before they find me @ the local Walmart eating through the candy aisle??
