Okay - last night I did it! I got on that treadmill and - while I didn't love it - I did it! I watched a cooking show (my favorite) while walking on the highest elevation setting on the treadmill. I did that for half of the time and then moved it to a lower elevation, but walking faster. I'm sure I could have pushed myself more - but I am just so happy that I stayed on there.

My goal was to walk for 30 minutes - but the show wasn't done - so I kept walking till the ended and recorded a workout of 45 minutes!!

Thanks so much,
Sumay

That's actually what I am trying. Just moved the treadmill closer to the tv - and hoping that it will help. I actually stayed on it the other day - but it is too early to tell. Perhaps it will help.

Thanks, Sumay

I have an Ipad, and I got Netflix. So now, I get on the treadmill and watch a show. I notice I have more fun on the treadmill, and I stay on it longer. I am starting the C25K program today. So,I have my program downloaded on my Ipad. I need to have my mind focused on something other than walking, which is boring on a treadmill. Good luck!

My favorite all-time exercise is on the elliptical - don't know why it is so different for me with the treadmill, but it just is. However, now that I am working out at home instead of the gym - the treadmill it is. For some reason - when I work out on the elliptical - I push myself - I pay attention to my body and I am energized. When I work out on the treadmill - I am often looking at the time spent to see when I will be through.

I could read while doing it - but I tend to go at a slower pace when I read.

I could watch something while doing it - and while I usually keep going - if there is something interesting - I notice I slow down as well.

I have tried walking a bit on the treadmill while taking short bursts of running or jogging. Then I go back to walking again. However, I'm just trying to figure out why I usually choose the treadmill last as a way to exercise - and I'm trying to get past that to start using it again.

Thanks for your input!

My favorite past time is to find a friend to talk to. I put my ear plugs in and it's like having a walking buddy going at my pace. Of course, I let them know at the beginning why I am breathing so hard. Other than that I find something good on tv or read a magazine. When I'm pushing myself hard, reading is difficult to do.

No longer do I rush the process; instead I embrace and enjoy it!

Have faith in God.

I love walking - outdoors, that is. We usually go walking on nature trails and paths during the warmer months at least once a week - I'm talking really long walks. Now that it is colder - I hate to take all the kids outside when it is really cold - I am stuck indoors more. I have a treadmill and am not really in love with it - and I am trying to learn to love it. Any ideas?

What do you do to make your workout more interesting? What can you do to make the time go by faster - I hate finding myself always looking to see if my time is up - yet!

I want to make more use of our treadmill and find ways to like it more - I know that walking is a very beneficial exercise and want to do it more. Any tips would help!

Thanks, Sumayyah
