I've never liked indoor exercise and am enjoying walking since joining SP. DRNIRENBERG's article is interesting and confirms what I've always suspected. Besides, being out in nature is fun when nature is being nice! The spring weather is lovely, but I'm dreading our hot, humid, horribly buggy summers. Not sure what I'll do then or in winter; workout videos, I guess. I've found lots of them on Youtube.

Guten Tag Dietcolalola! I've been to Germany and I want to come back to visit.
Today was a nice day so at lunchtime i was able to go out and walk for 30 min (1.53). I can only stand the treadmill and four walls for awhile. Tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day, so I'll be outside walking on the bike trail.
I love living in Tucson, AZ where walking outside is wonderful. On Feb 19th I was walking outside in shorts and a tshirt but on the 20th had to walk inside at the mall because of our snowfall. Thankfully this is a very rare occurance.

I don't drive so my only form of transport is my own two feet - pretty much all of my walking is done outdoors in all sorts of weather, generally carrying stuff. I do enjoy walking though thr nature reserve near my house on weekends just for pleasure and without a full backpack!
5 MILLION Steps challenge - I am going to take 5 MILLION steps between March 1st 2013 and leaving for Europe (around Easter 2014).
I can't get a ticker to do this so I am stuck updating manually for now (I'll be rounding DOWN to the nearest thousand)
I don't own a treadmill or stationary bike but I have access to them on base. While it's convenient and climate controlled I feel better being outside. There's an energy I tend to get from being outside and it also allows me time to clear my head. When I'm walking with some of the people from the SA SparkPage being outside allows us to talk and work on our goals together vs trying to do that in a gym.

I do not own a treadmill but I do own both a stationary bike and a mountain bike - I would rather be outside than being stuck in the condo on a stationary bike - so I think the same principals would be in play treadmill verses out side
