Just now getting around to updating. Last Friday the ortho did a new set of xrays and told me that my foot isnt healing as well as he had hoped.
The piece of bone that is broken loose, isnt adhering back to the rest of the foot as well as it should, in fact, its spread more.
The next six weeks in the boot, continuing with the high doses of vitamin d and no walking of course.
If it isnt healing better when I go back in April, they will try a tins or tens unit, stimuation boot or some such as that....if that doesnt start the regrowth of the bone, then, I guess im looking at a pin.
So, needless to say I have been pretty blue...just trying to stay positive and healthy, eating well as I can and getting in that extra vitamin d and calcium.
Going to the tanning bed for the added sunlight, well, stimulated, but it might help me, with my overall demeanor.

Sorry to hear Val but I do understand the frustration. After an injury I sustained skating hearing a doc tell me 6 months of no skating was heartbreaking but it's needed. As much as we want to focus on staying fit listening to our body and not our heart/mind is more important. Don't look at this time off as a setback and try and see it was your body telling you in order to reach your goal it needs you to do... In the end you'll be able to look at this as I'm glad I did it vs those stories of I should have listened.

As for your walking spot have you looked around your home? I know we all have some wonderful trails we enjoy. I save those for the weekend myself and during the week I've mapped out a couple 3 mile courses at work as I carpool to save money.

My victory for last week was losing 3.2 lbs for a total of 43. I truly expected to gain weight as I had taken 6 days off from walking and biking due to soreness in my hips. I wasn't closely watching what I was eating either but have left this all to my body needed a break and needed fuel since I have been pushing myself so hard to break another plateau. I'm still a bit flustered in not seeing what others see when I look in the mirror but I am happy with how I feel. I'll be hitting up some thrift stores pretty soon to donate and to shop!

This Friday I will go back to the Orthos and get a new set of xrays taken on my foot.
I sure hope its good news and that my foot is healing and I can resume walking for health.
I know I will have to start out slow and walk less than I did before.
But I am just hoping he says I can.
I just hope he says NO CAST REQUIRED.
Last night I suffered a little pain. its been 7 weeks since I broke it and I would think it should be getting healed, but the doctor told me it might be as long as 12 weeks.
Another thing I am struggling with....when I am able to finally get back to walking, I am going to have to cut back my days and maybe change areas to walk.
As money is very tight right now and I cant see driving 10 miles to go walk, twice a day as I was before.
That is a struggle, paying for gas.
Looking for a part time job, so, that might help, if anything comes about.
Finding a job right now is hard, so paying for gas to get to the walking track wont be on top priority list....not with outstanding utility bills.
I will have to find a place to walk, where I can WALK to get there and back,

Ive been struggling with a broken foot, and havent walked since Jan 8th,
I go back to the doctor this Friday. I feel the pain in my foot comes and goes, I do not think he is going to tell me its healed, I just hope he tells me its healing and will not require a cast.
I expect he will tell me about 3 more weeks before I can begin trying to walk on it again.
My victory is just knowing that I will walk, as soon as I am safely physically able.
And just staying focused,

I've been struggling with the scale going up and down. I'm taking steps today to get my DVDs sorted so that I can really get into the walking program and to rotate them so I don't get bored.

I have sleep apnea and have had the CPAP machine now since December and I can finally say that it is working and doing what everyone said would happen. This weekend I haven't wanted to nap or anything and have felt alert and energized.

I loved my Omorin HJ-112 it has been the best pedometer by far but in December I upgraded to the Fitbit Ultra. I can say it has been more motivating adding the ability to see what hours of the day I'm active the most helps me put into perspective how much time i'm sitting on my bum.

That is why I am waiting for my Fit One to arrive. I have never been able to find a pedometer that worked well or long. I'm excited about the Fit One, and hope it arrives tomorrow. emoticon emoticon

My struggle has been finding a working pedometer. I had two old ones with dead batteries. I bought a new one. The new one broke the day after I threw out the receipt and packaging. Then I bought batteries and the old ones still were no good. Guess who is going shopping tomorrow?

Sometimes it helps just to talk about it. If you need an ear, I have two so I can give you one. emoticon

I am having terrible struggles with emotional eating. I have to get control, but I am so overwhelmed by all kinds of problems, everything from my Victorian house needing a new roof desperately, I got the "It's not you, it's me" talk from the love of my life and he's gone, car needs repair, can't find a job and I've applied for more than 100 (this is a financially depressed area), and it goes on and on and on. I'm eating bad stuff, too. Things I don't keep in my house emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I like this, the struggles need support and the victories need the "atta girl's" A great place for that
