Thanks to all of you for your enthusiasm and confidence . I think that walking is something I think I can keep doing in this new lifestyle over the long term. I do have a goal to also be able to jog and then eventually run as I just need to know that my body is strong enough to do it. I am never been in shape because I always though I was week and not athletic. I guess I now want to prove to myself that I can be athletic. You see I hear the High School gym teacher in my head telling me I failed gym but gave me 50% for effort. I am now squashing his voice and giving myself an A+ for a job well done.
Yesterday June 4, 2011 I completed my FIRST event called the Auther James 15th Annual SUN RUN 8 K in Newfoundland. WOW I completed an 8 K . I jogged the first half KM then walked the rest. I am so proud of me. I was last but it was perfect!!!! I did the 8 K in 1 hour and 20 min. 2 min per Km faster than I normally would do for 5K. Also, after the race I put my before picture next to my race day picture at 181.5 pounds and I was very surprised at how much weight I have actually lost. Best of all I now can say I have completed an event like this . I feel so proud I accomplished this goal. I am now looking forward to the next event which is a 10 k on June 22, 2011. I feel so alive!!!!!
