I started out very out of shape and 1/2 mile was all I could handle. I would come home and collapse on my bed and rest for half an hour. I kept at it and within a month was walking 1-2 miles at a time (much slower pace than many) but felt much better. Within 3 months I was able to walk much farther and 4-5 mile walks were easy. I also found at about two months, I could see a difference in many things.

I would suggest nordic or power walking if you have such a limited time to walk as that will give you a better overall workout. Perhaps interval walking with some jogging or lunges in the walk to increase the work your legs do.

For me it took about a month, but I wasn't walking every day because of my schedule. I do try and walk for at least 10 minutes in place every day and several times a day so I can get my time in.

You can do it - just be patient.

I saw results very quickly - not just clothes fitting better but increased endurance - ability to step higher etc. I also walk several miles a day 7 days a week

How long before you started to see results? I'm very busy, so I have only been able to walk about a mile/day. I don't really care about my weight, but I really want my clothes to start fitting better.
