I know most of you have to battle the snow but for me in the winter the temps are in the 70's and it is nice being outside. During the summer I have to walk at 6am just as the sun comes up or it is just tooo hot to be outside.

Hi! The Leslie Sansone 'Walk-Away-The-Pounds' videos are really good for indoor walking. You don't need much space. If you are short of funds, or not sure you will like them, try your local library! Often you can borrow the DVD's..then if you really like it, you can buy it...or hint that you would like it for your birthday!

Winter is actually the best time to walk here. We don't get show, temps are 40-50. May-September we have 100+ temps. Then I go to Jazzercise, swim, go to the rec center and walk the track or use our elliptical.

Malls, DVD's, Supercenters, Treadmill at the gym. This week I had to take dh to hospital for a procedure and walked 2 miles around the atrium - they even have signs telling you how many times around = a mile. I'm trying to get up the nerve to start walking the loop of halls at the High School while dd and ds take their music lessons.

My family and I just moved to Michigan and this will be my first real winter. I have been scouting out nearby indoor places I can walk. Of course I see what you mean, they wont do you any good if you cant get there! LOL Maybe check your library, many have DVDs for check out!

I like to walk outside or at the mall. There seem to be Walmarts everywhere and you can get a good workout if you choose your time to avoid crowds. In a pinch, I go up and down and up and down my basement stairs.
Yes I am going to walk as long as I can until it's just too cold. After that I am going to start going to the gym at my job and do the elliptical machine. :) But yes I think walking DVD's are a great alternative as well, and also On Demand workouts if you have that service.

I bundle up and walk outside - even in -40 degree weather, as long as it's not storming or too windy. Otherwise, I take advantage of interior walking opportunitites. For example, I'll go around the shopping mall at least once before I start my shopping.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right.
I'm not sure if your area has a Treasure Hunt or Dirt Cheap but I just purchased Leslie's video their for $5.00 new. They have others also. You can also check with your flea markets they have them some time. Our library has videos you cah check out for 2 weeks and also you can request videos from other libraries and they'll get them for you no charge. Good luck
I walk in the daytime by bundling up (long johns and all) and walk on the streets. I don't like to walk in the evening because it is too cold and the ice is too dangerous even though I have trax that grip the ice.
If I don't make it out, I walk around the house. I can walk from one end to the other, around rooms, back and forth. It isn't quite the same, but I'm moving. I also will walk up and down my driveway if the roads are not passable.
I have a treadmill that I also use, but I will walk through the house when I'm on the phone or something.

Winter is coming, and I live in Iowa. Iowa winters aren't as bad as Minnesota winters, but they sure are cold as hell frozen over. Fortunately, my college has a free mini-gym I can walk in. However, there will be days that I can't drive to school to walk. I know about the walk-at-home videos with Leslie Samsone (or something like that), but I don't have the money for them. Any videos out there that may help me out? I'd like to walk 2-4 miles at least.
