I walk with my mom and her friends every morning that I'm not babysitting. We go anywhere from 2.5-3.5 miles, with lots of hills. Not only is it a great workout, but I have a great time with the "old ladies." I'm really going to miss it when I go away to school...

What a great way to teach your children about activity and create memories. My grandchildren love that their parents walk and are active. My three year old grandson can walk the entire 1 1/2 miles to my house. My two year old granddaughter can walk almost half the distance. They have a stroller in case they get tired, but they love to walk.

I just returned to my "pre-children" weight after almost five years. Now that the weather is warm the kids and I try to walk every weekday. Either I pull them in their red wagon (which adds pulling about 50 lbs) or I push the baby in the stroller while my four year old rides his bike. We used the maps with SparkPeople to determine the length of our walks in our neighborhood and figure the calories burned.
