My coworker had Shape ups and her podiatrist told her they were not good for feet. They have no arch support.

Everyone has a different foot and you need to try on the shoes and find the ones that fit you best and are comfortable. They need to be comfortable in the store and not have "break in" time.

I have New Balance, but they're actually a pair of running shoes (no, I don't run). After I wear shoes for a while, my feet tend to pronate, so I needed a shoe with extra support so my feet would stay where they're supposed to!

I am new here, but I have a hard time finding shoes with enough arch support....any suggestions. Also, and maybe this is the problem, I have regular width toes but a very narrow heel....

Have you tried men's shoes? They are shaped a little differently and I can find a better fit with them sometimes.

I've tried several brands but have fallen in love with Danskin's version of the Sketcher Shape-ups. With most shoes, my feet would start hurting on the balls and bottoms of my toes (have no clue about this). However, I don't have this issue with the Danskins. They have good arch support as well. Not to mention they are MUCH cheaper than Sketchers. Walmart carries them for $25.00

I am a New Balance girl all the way. I have tried Nike, Sausony and many other but my New Balances are the best. Hope this helps.

Reebok Toners. Got my first pair after wearing "knockoffs" of this shoe. REALLY liked the bouncy feel for my feet. As a night nurse, I can't have my feet hurting or aching. They NEVER do with this shoe!

My favorite is the Mizuno Waverunner. I also like the New Balance walking shoe. I have the Reebok Easy Tones but they are narrower and I have right foot spasms when I wear them. You also need to be on a smooth surface or you'll be off balance.

Interestingly, I had a discussion with a coworker who walks 8-10 miles a day. She switched to Skechers Shape Ups and developed heel pain. We talked about arch support and other things. She is switching back to the Reeboks. She never had heel pain with them.

Our feet are all different so we wear different shoes. I like Reboks and New Balance. I used to wear Ryka but they changed their styles and they don't feel the same. I have some Skecher Shape Ups and wear them but not for long walks.

My sister swears by Nike shoes and will have nothing else. My daughter loves them also. They usually don't work for me.

You want to put enough money to get a quality shoe but don't need to spend a fortune. Shoes last 300 to 500 miles then the insides wear out. The outsides will look fine, but the insides are not as supportive as they should be. Then it will be time to retire them to gardening shoes.
