I don't have outdoor adventure but I have the extreme adventure. I haven't started using it yet. I am in the middle of the EA sports 30 day challenge and that is wiping me out from doing much else. I am very excited by this thread to find out that there may be an exercise mode and that it does get the heart rate up.
My son just got it for his 7th birthday and the whole family is getting into it. I discovered the exercise setting and each day the kids pick which routine i should do. I think they are purposefully making me do the hard ones. I don't have many other wii active games so I can't compare, but this one really gets my heart rate up and going
I have it, but I haven't used it in a while, and never with my HRM. I need to pull it out and get into that again, that was a fun game.
As for the calorie counter, is it a heart rate monitor?? I'm not sure what you mean by calorie counter. I have a HRM with the same type of "touch' sensor on the top of it. If it's not functioning, I'll wipe it down, wipe off the sensors on the top. Sometimes that will get it working. If not I do the same on the back of it, wipe it off. After those two things, I wet the back of it. It's like a watch (and also has a chest strap) but I'll wet the back of the watch so it gets better contact with my skin. You can also use a gel too. try those things and see if they work!
So... I really love this game. But I wanted to start tracking and get an idea how many calories I was burning with it. So I found my old trusty calorie counter and low and behold.. it won't work! I mean, it WORKS, but when I put my finger on the sensor... it does nothing. The little heart stays still when it is supposed to flash... I think the sensor is broken because it was thrown into a drawer and not used for close to a year.
So, this brings me back to my question about the Outdoor challenge... does anyone have it and use it? How do you calculate your cardio or even calories burned with it?
Oh... and if anyone has any ideas about my calorie counter too I'm all ears... I haven't forgotten how to work it or anything... is it possible the sensor went bad?
