this is so funny. My hubbys nickname is Turtle because he got hit on the head many years ago and it didn't hurt him, so he got dubbed the nickname Turtle, and I picked my user name because I like to say that I am "Turtle's Dove" LOL!

He lives in a big fish tank that my in laws replaced because the top part leaked. He is kind of fun to watch sometimes.

I would love to have an indoor pet turtle but hubby says no. I do occasionally sneak a box turtle in for a visit.

we have a pet turtle. that would be expensive food. He was given to us buy the science teacher because he was a bully to the other turtles.

In my area everything is thought of as food. I'm sure we have some people who eat road kill . LOL. Hubby has eaten turtle too and you know how I feel about turtles.

yup I am with you Tish - love frogs. I just tried them because I was in Chinatown in San Fran.

I made them once and tasted them. Really not bad but I like frogs.

I might try them if I had the opportunity. But, I don't think I am brave enough to make them myself.

You live rural enough my son might be willing to join them. I'll bring the beans and maybe some salad? emoticon

My dad allways threatened us with frogs legs.

I think I would prefer the beans. My son just came home from a mission for our church. His new favorite food is squirrel. He has threatened to eat "fluffy" our furry friend in the backyard. He says the cournty squirrel is good but the city squirrels have a strange taste.

Thanks for the smile.

Hi, Sis!! Do you guys eat possum and raccoon? An LPN who worked for me had a disabled hubby and a house full of kids and her DIL said that they ate everything that anyone gave them and anything that wandered into the yard. LOL. They ate crow. She bought me some "deer" sausage once and I was fried. I never liked wild game or any deer sausage. Never been too thrilled with most meat anyway. She wanted to see me eat it and she knew that I was afraid. She was a fantastic person and I finally steeled up my courage and tried it and it was the best I have ever tasted and was like commercial sausage. I guess if you can make crows taste good you are quite a cook. Of course, I will eat the beans with you. LOL.

Wife to a redneck here! I thought this topic might be juicier than it turned out to be. We've been struggling financially for a while and Hubby has threatened to butcher my hens and rabbit. Apparently he doesn't think beans are real protein.

We have people in our area that eat pretty much anything. I don't like wild game but many people love it.

you can pretty much find any beef recipe for the crockpot and substitute in the venison!

Glad to hear it is working out for you. South Beach is a great diet. Minimal deprivation and it works.

Laughed at the topic. I thought we had a hillbilly. LOL! Some people in our area actually eat crow. Ick.

LOL! I have been seriously doing the WOE, and you know what? My pants are a little looser than they were one week ago. I'm seriously digging this. I get frustrated on the following it to a T thing, but I have to say that I was a little doubtful at first, but my cravings for sweets have disappeared. Isn't that great? We went to the fair saturday night, and I did not even crave those deep fried orios and fried koolaid and all that fattening junk. I can't believe it, and you guys are great supporters, too. This rocks! TD
