I am currently on phase 1 day 9. So far, I have really loved South Beach because it hasn't been that hard for me to follow and I feel like I am starting to learn how to eat properly. I have lost 5 pounds so far and I haven't had any bad cravings except for the first few days.
My only problem seems to be with planning out meals and snacks. (I am a procrastinator! lol) I did really well with my meal/snack planning in the first week but need to get back on track. Things have been crazy around my house. I just started a new job in my career, so now I have 2 jobs and my fiance just went back to grad school full time yesterday.
Cheat 1: Sunday (my ph1 day7) we were running around California for a family event and happened to pass by a Sonic. We don't have one nearby and in my "old life" we stopped there to get one of their drink concoctions every time we were "lucky" enough to pass by one. I was starving because I didn't bring enough snacks with me and in a spur of the moment weakness ordered a small lemon cream slush. Fortunately, no cravings and I continued on with SB right after. In fact, that sugary drink gave me a horrible tummy ache and I almost had him pull the car over so I could throw up.
Cheat 2: Today (ph1 day9) is my long day, working at both jobs. I did not have a lunch prepared today. My fiance was running errands and decided to pick up lunch for us. He was going to Panda Express, so I said get me chicken with string beans but only get me the entree. I started eating my lunch, which came in a bowl and I discovered that there was chow mein noodles under my chicken. Noodles are my favorite thing and they were right in front of me rather than hidden like all the other carbs in my house. So I ate them.
Anyway, those are my 2 cheats and I'm feeling guilty about them. I know they are going to affect my phase 1 weight loss. I know phase 1 is supposed to get rid of your cravings. I feel like I cheated both times not because I was craving, but more because I failed to plan and let my hunger-monster control my eating decisions. Like I said, SB hasn't been that hard for me unless I fail to plan out my meals. So whats done is done and I can't take it back.
I am wondering if there is anything I should do now with my eating? Like stay on phase 1 for an extra day? Or should I start phase 1 all over again because I cheated? Or should I just start 1.5 on day 15? Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks! :)
