Nope no magic carb number - just the fiber and the serving size. Some bread is really thick and it equals 2 servings for us.

Oh gosh you guys are so quick to answer and helpful!!! Ok so no carrot bread, but now that I know the 3-4 fiber range, there are LOTS of others. Is there a magic carb number?

Bread needs to have 3 gm or more fiber per 1 ounce serving. So that doesn't quite fit the bill.

You are actually looking for a higher fiber number. I usually try for 3 or 4 grams of fiber if I'm going to have bread. that is why I usually resort to wraps - less carbs, less calories and more fiber if you look hard enough.

Ok so after 4 weeks of eating no bread, for fear I will fall off the wagon and eat a whole loaf (ish), I'm ready to add a little back in.

We have a Great Harvest Bread Co. that opened recently and was wondering if anyone has tried their breads?

I'm looking through the nutrition info on all their breads and all have 100% whole wheat ground fresh daily for the bread, completely fresh ingredients, etc.

So my thinking is maybe I should get a bread that would be a treat, like the carrot bread. That way I get a veggie, plus whole grains. The nutrition value on that particular bread is 150 calories, 18 carbs, 1 fiber. Is that ok??
