You don't eat the pod - only the bean part.

I have frozen pods that I steam in the microwave using very little water to retain nutrition. I suppose fresh ones could be cooked the same way in a covered dish using just a bit more water. They are great with salt on them, but watch your sodium intake; it can mess with weightloss.

Just boil it in salted water, drain and munch! If it is in the pod, boil whole and pop as you eat (same as japanese restaurants). Good beans! I use edamame in salads, in stir fries, and general snacks.

I just bought some edamame and I'm wanting to use it for some snacks but I have no idea how to make it good. Does anyone have some good recipes for it I could use for snacks? Thanks!
