My read today is;

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

My interpretation of this is I need to refuse to allow any criticism from others to cause me to become unfocused. I need to seek to have a clean heart and pure motives. By doing this I will have truth and conviction while getting mercy and grace.

Anyone have a different take?

Today's read is;

John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Hmmm ... I think this is with the deepening of God's spirit in you it will give you a greater understanding of truth. Then with a greater understanding you will be released of fear of the unknown.

What's your take?

Today I read;

Luke 8:24 And they came to Him [Jesus] and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.

I hear from this that I shouldn't allow the world around me to take my peace and calm but to rest in knowing that God is in charge.

My reading today is

2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

My take on this would be I shouldn't be trying to keep up with the Jones' but to follow my own conscious. They may not be making the choices that are the right ones. Their idea of success or the correct lifestyle isn't necessarily where I truly should be. I should be my own person with Christ in me.

Any takers for comments here?

Today I read;

John 17:20-23 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

What I got from this is I need to rise above lifes distractions keeping my thoughts, actions and words in alinement with God. I need to be a reflection of God's love and peace to those around me and to myself in all parts of my life. What were your thoughts?

I am reading daily scripture trying to exercise my spiritual life to go alone with my daily physical exercise and some mind exercises also. Here is my scripture for today.

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

To me this means I need to let the unforgiveness of others go. They don't really seem to care and it takes a toll on me that affects me spiritually, mentally and physically. This isn't easy but I am looking forward to a more joyful life. emoticon

Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. Thank you for your patience! My apologies for the sparatic postings of late. I am home and attempting to work (gotta pay the bills) but every day is a challenge.
emoticon February of 2013 has already arrived. Last month I posted on my daily blog to help make me accountable of my New Years Resolutions. This month I'll be posting about love. Love has an enormous influence on ones self mentally, physically and spiritually. It is a vital part of making me the person I desire to be.
emoticon Today people seem to forget what marriage is all about. The phrase ... "for better or for worse" appears to have no meaning as a vow. Ah, but ...
A friend sent this incredible love story to me and I just had to share it with you.
"It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived at the hospital to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. The nurse took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctorfs appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though she doesnft know who you are?" He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."

emoticon I was unable to blog yesterday due to illness. I am in the hospital after having been in the er Monday evening for difficulty breathing and vomiting. Wednesday I'll be having a proceedure that is a test while being placed under. Hmmm.. they have no idea why I am not breathing correctly, I have my regular doctor and three specialists all working on me. Hopefully this is a good thing. I might not be able to log into Spark people tomorrow or later this week due to health issues so I thought I'd give you a what's up. I had one friend contact several others and have an out pouring of calls and prayers that has warmed my heart. Such love is a wonderful blessing! Thank you all!

emoticon A friend shared this with me and now I am sharing with you.

I WISH YOU ENOUGH

Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter's departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said:

"I love you and I wish you enough."

The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom." They kissed and the daughter left.

The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.

I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?" "Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?"

"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said.

When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, "I wish you enough." May I ask what that means?"

She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more.

"When we said 'I wish you enough' we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them". Then turning toward me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory,

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye."

She then began to cry and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person. An hour to appreciate them. A day to love them. And an entire life to forget them.

Please Share this with your friends. It has the potential to inspire alot of people.

emoticon Prelude to a short-short "love" story. It is really just a day to some people, but to me it is a novel of love. It is a story that contains sacrifice, putting others first, time, effort, sharing, communicating, and kindness ungrudging. Today I felt extremely loved. I've been married to the same man for 42 years this coming May and many may think that feeling loved is a given because of the time thing. That is not so! (There is good, bad and ugly.) Those who have been married for any length of time know that. Love means giving of yourself. Love cannot be left alone and un-nourished. It can not be taken for granted and expected to continue to live.
emoticon The short-short "love" story.
Today my dh called me to his computer to do some research with him for a special dinner of celebration tonight. He had promised to take me somewhere special for my birthday dinner the weekend after his next payday. This is it. We researched our local area for a dining experience that would be an adventure in that we hadn't been there before and wasn't a commercial chain restaurant. We found a wonderful sounding Cuban cuisine place at a reasonable distance from our home. (My dh travels over a 100 miles a day, five days a week for work and does NOT like to travel on weekends.) We put on our going out clothes (This attire isn't a normal happiness for my dh.) and set out to travel to what we both expected to be a delight. When we got to the local area we were headed for the traffic and people were beyond highly busy! Apparently, there was an art festival going on (we had no idea) and roads were blocked and parking was unobtainable. We couldn't get within a mile of the restaurant in our car. Our adventure took us over an hour of stop, go, wait and oops that is the wrong way. It wasn't turning out like we had hoped. lol Hmmm ... A discussion to go onto plan B occurred. lol No, I didn't want to have a sandwich and drink at a pub. No, I didn't want pizza for my "special" birthday dinner. Taco Bell was out of the question. (My dh thinks he has a sense of humor, but I beg to differ on this occasion.) He offered to take me into the next county to a wonderful restaurant I love (The Catfish Place in Apopka, FL). I hadn't been there in over 18 months (the last time I went with a girlfriend for her birthday) and is the only place I know of that serves fried green tomatoes within a 100 miles. I was over joyed! We went and it was beyond words in wonderful! My dh was very attentive and acted like we'd just gone down the street instead of almost 30 miles one way. Wow! After a leisurely meal my dh offered to wait in the car while I went in a store nearby. (Wow! Another delightful surprise!) The store had materials I was wanting for my classroom at work. (I'd been meaning to go there but hadn't been able to make my time table get me there through out the week.) This was a very BIG deal! When we returned home my dh insisted on opening doors and allowing me to enter first. A message awaited my dh. Why hadn't he showed up for the guys afternoon out? (I never knew anything about this.) When I questioned him about it his reply was "I wanted this to be my girls day out ... with me."
emoticon So do you recognize why this as a true love story? If you do, then I know love is within you.

For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son. That who so ever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
emoticon This would imply that no matter what I have done or how I look I am loved. So the questions to ponder are these ... If God loves me that much (to allow His son to suffer, to give me a choice to acknowledge Him, to gift me with living forever) than how can I not be worthy of love? How can I not love me? Definitely something to ponder!

emoticon The 2013 new year has arrived and I will begin a new start on being the person I wish to become. I'll be daily posting some of the activities and events of my day. Hopefully this will help me to visualize the accountability of my resolutions.
emoticon I did some God time.
I did a little early morning posting on Spark people and sent out a few thank you messages there.
I did some stair-stepping.
I took a short walk and spent time with the animals.
I went to the YMCA and worked out.
I picked up a few items from the "Dollar Tree" for my students fun Friday tomorrow. (Unfortunately I gave into the urge and bought some raisinettes in the checkout. They were well gone before I ever got home. That meant no enlarged dinner meal that I had planned on and no small sweet snack later either. Hmmm ... the price one must pay. lol)
I did some posting and journalising on Spark people.
I make a healthy and savory chicken casserole for dinner. (I believe I'll be taking some for my lunch on Friday at work.)
I did some Christian fiction reading while waiting for some things to finish cooking. ( I felt compelled to make tomorrow's dinner for my dh tonight, as I'll be going out for a special night in honor of my birthday with a girlfriend. I won't wish to deal with it tomorrow or leave my dh to fend for himself even though he could and would. lol... I suspect that is part of the reason we are still married after 42 years. lol)
I prepared some bill payments to go out for tomorrow.
I did a load of laundry.
I have decided that my theme for next months blogs will be something to do with "love." (So original for February ... not. LOL)

I went shopping for some under garments and am happy to report I bought a size smaller than I had been wearing. Yeah!
I mailed a thank you note.
I did a Bible study group and later went to a chapel service.
I used a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure at a local spa. While I was there a young women and I struck up a conversation. She was having her first professional manicure to go on a date with her husband for their fourth wedding anniversary. When she went to pay for the service she found out they don't do tips on cards there. She had no cash with her and felt embarrassed. I was going out at that moment and stopped to say good bye while slipping her some cash. (unsolicited) I told her happy anniversary and went out the door before she could respond. When I started to pull out of the parking lot I could see her and the person who worked on her through the picture window. They were both smiling and hugging. I can't tell you what an incredible high I left with. Wow!
I made a wonderful stir fry (twice ... I burnt it the first time ... the outdoor animals are loving me tonight).
I tried some fudge frozen yogurt for the first time. It was a delicious evening snack and was within the guidelines of my current diet. Yeah!
I did some posting and journalising on Spark people.

I went to the public library to pick up some items I'd put on hold to share with my students.

I tried to call my absentee friend when I got home but couldn't find her number then. So I sat down for a moment before getting my shower and dinner ... I fell asleep and didn't wake up until almost midnight. lol I took my shower pulled a tv dinner out for the dh and went to bed without eating or doing my evening Spark people blog.

I did "lots" of laundry today!

My phone finally got fixed today. (No phone since the seventeenth.) I had thirty seven messages I'll need to respond to. That doesn't include those I just deleted. Whew! I didn't realize how popular we are. lol)
I prepared some things for church tomorrow.

I communicated with my daughter this afternoon.
I sent out some thank you cards and some email and Spark mail thank you responses.
I did some posting on Spark people. (I still have over two hundred more to go. lol)
I tried a new recipe for fish cakes that were very healthy. They were okay but I doubt I'll make them again.
My youngest son and I had a wonderful chat this evening on "skype" (?) (He was concerned that he hadn't been able to contact me all week and especially on my birthday yesterday. He shared with me that he has just passed his pharmacy assistant certification and is waiting for the official paperwork in the mail. Yeah! He has just been given a full time position where he has been working part time because of it. Yeah, again! )
My dh and I had some nice conversation and even shared some encouraging words with one another.

I did some God time with lots of prayer.
I went by the Ruth House and has some encouraging words with a couple of the residents there. I also took them some cupcakes to sweeten their day.
I sent out some thank you communications for birthday greetings. (This may take me a few days to complete. I had no idea their were so many people aware of my birthday and cared enough to let me know. Such love! I am so moved!!!)
My daughter stopped by my work (on her way to work) and brought me a touching gift and an individual strawberry shortcake with a birthday sign in it. (This was so touching!)
We had pictures done at school today. The kids looked so cute and no one was tardy or absent! Yeah!
I sent a birthday greeting to my friend (we share the same birthday) with a promise to deliver her gift at church this weekend. (We couldn't seem to find any way to get together before then.)
My dh and I went by to deliver our daughter-in-laws birthday gifts and card this evening. (We also share a birthday. They say things come together in threes. lol)
My son invited us to go to dinner with the two of them for us birthday girls. We went to a wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant in downtown Eustis. (This was NOT Taco Bell! lol) Yummy!
I have done some journalising and posting with Spark People.
I kept my emotions in check even though my phone is still not working and most of my family could not contact me on my birthday. I was sadly disappointed, but very appreciative of those who were able to make contact with me! There is no greater feeling than to feel the love and caring of others! Nice!!!

emoticon The 2013 new year has arrived and I will begin a new start on being the person I wish to become. I'll be daily posting some of the activities and events of my day. Hopefully this will help me to visualize the accountability of my resolutions.
emoticon I did some scripture reading and reflection.
I took a short walk and spent time with the animals.
I did some stair-stepping.
I am still without my phone so was unable to call those I had planned to. Hmmm ... Maybe I'll try using my work phone tomorrow after hours. (All my calls are local.)
I ate sensibly most of the day. (I did have one additional snack in the afternoon but still remained in a good range.)
I renewed some items at my local public library and did a little research on some lessons coming up.
I cut my hair and gave it a conditioning treatment. (Long over due. )
I enjoyed a peaceful crock pot dinner with my dh.
I picked up something for a friend and another something for my daughter-in-law for each of their birthdays. (All three of us were born on January 24th. lol) Delivering them will be the challenge. Since both of them are nurses and on a rotating schedule and location.
I did some posting and writing to and for friends today.

I took a short walk and spent time with the animals.
I did some stair-stepping.
I did well with my food today until I came home from work. I was all prepared to have a bowl of fruit as my snack when I got home. However, there was left over Oreo Cookie Birthday Cake sitting on the kitchen counter calling out to me when I came in. I not only had a piece, I had an enormous like two whole slices piece. Oops! I decided to cut the cake into the sensible piece size and package them up for use at another time. (I froze some.)
There were no children at home today (Wow, that felt strange. lol) So I had more than a short alone time with the dh. I even got a little time alone just for me. ( I took a short nap before dinner.)
My dh saw I was resting and took it upon himself to make dinner from a recipe I had made last week he liked. I woke up to the aroma of dinner and my dh standing at the end of my bed whispering to me to see if I was awake yet. How wonderfully nice!
I have done some emails and Spark people posting. (My food journal included.)

emoticon I woke up before the sun came up and had lots of God time.
I took a short walk and spent time with the animals.
I did some stair-stepping.
I had my granddaughter spend the night last so we had some one on one time today. Yeah!
I did lots of posting and catching up with emails.
I did some preparations for this weeks dinner meals and lunch meals.
I spent time with my dh today. (This is his last week I'll be able to see him awake before he goes back to work and will be doing opposite hours that I do. At least for a while.)
I did some laundry.
I made the shower and laundry available for a family without water.
I visited with my daughter and her family.
My dh and I went to our granddaughter's basketball game at her school. (It was suppose to be their last game of the season. Due to an unclear situation they will be doing a play off this coming Friday. Hopefully we'll be able to attend.)
I've been trying to reach my mom on her phone all week and found out today that she left it in Florida when she left for Texas. lol Duh, no wonder. lol I'll be calling my cousin this week to see how things are going out there. (Gotta find her new number my dh wrote down somewhere.)
I made arrangements with a friend to meet for a workout this week.
I have another friend that I've been playing phone tag with trying to meet for some fun exercise activity. (Maybe dancing, swimming, bowling, etc.)
I did some babysitting with the youngest grandson a couple times today.
I have gone back to food journalising. (I stopped in the month of December due to time and got out of the groove and it shows. lol)

I had an awesome time at church today! I hated it to end!
I visted a sick friend.
I finished my grocery shopping that cut short yesterday.
I contacted my brother's wife and we chatted. We decided they would keep my mom's dog while she is away in Texas since the dog is sick.
My husband's sister contacted me today and we also had a nice little chat.
My eldest son did a bar-b-que at my house today and he supplied all the trimmings. (This was in celebration of his two boy's birthdays this month.) (He did all the work except for the clean-up, which I volunteered to take care of.)
I sent out some encouragement notes.
I visited with a friend I hadn't seen since before Christmas.
I did some Spark people posting.

emoticon This morning I did Bible and prayer time.
I spent time with the outside animals and took several short walks.
This morning I made a healthy breakfast for my dh and one of my sons who came over to work on a project here.
I did some weight lifting and a little stair-stepping.
I visited with two of my sons (individually in separate locations)
I visited "all" four grandchildren (also in different locations)
I attempted to contact one of my sister-in-laws but she never answered her cell phone.
I tried to pick up my mom's dog for dog sitting but wasn't able to get anyone to give me access to get him. (I left several messages with a contact number but have as yet to hear from anyone. - Yes, I am certain of the number and place. lol) Hmmm ...
I did lots of laundry.
I picked up gifts for two of my grandson's birthdays. (The family will be gathering tomorrow to celebrate them.)
I started my bi-monthly grocery shopping, but due to traffic and in-store conditions decided to cut it short and continue tomorrow after church. Life is too short for stressing over such things. lol
I used a large part of today to contact persons I know who do community service by helping others in need. I did something different for each one to let them know they are appreciated. I also did something to contribute to their individual efforts as my part of "national service day."
I took care of some bookkeeping.
I did some heavy cleaning in my kitchen.
I continued my efforts to organize myself. (Today I worked on my laundry room.)
I sent out some computer emails and did some Spark people posting.
I made a roasted chicken dinner that went over very well.
I am now exhausted and am waiting for my last load of laundry to dry so I may get ready for bed. (My pajamas on in this load. lol)

I made additional preparations for my student that is coming.
I gave an elderly gentleman a ride that is unable to do so for himself.
I went to the bank to change my access ID number for my checking account debit card.
I did some emails and Spark people posting with friends and encourager's.
I had dinner out with my dh at a Mexican restaurant we've never been to before. (I had some delicous fish tacos with mango salsa that was healthy, low calorie and very filling. I suspect we'll go again. lol)
I sent a message to two of my sons.
I spent some time organizing some paperwork.

I spent time with the outside animals and took a short walk.
I did some stair-stepping.
I did some research for up and coming lessons for my students and made some extra papers of work already set up. (I have a new student coming to my class sometime in the next week or two.)
I went by "Ruth's House" and gave some encouragement to the woman that are currently living there.
I took a card of encouragement to a lady who is helping woman in crisis in my community.
I went by my bank to check on the status of my account and the card I am currently waiting for (a replacement due to the original being stolen the week before Christmas)
I kept my13 year old granddaughter for a short while after she returned from the ER (she collapsed from pain and was having blurry vision ... they claim it has to due to her body chemistry changing during her monthly cycle ... but I've never seen anything like it ...we'll be getting a second opinion)
I had a visit with my daughter and her children.
I talked a student into redirecting his anger from another child into a hands on science project. (This was a bit unnerving but rewarding. Administration is speaking with the students family and behavior specialist.)
I spent some private time with conversation with my dh.
I did some emails and Spark people posting with friends and encourager's.

I took a short walk and took care of the outside animals.
I did some scripture and Bible time several times today.
I took a trip to the public library to do some research and return an item borrowed.
I visited with a friend's son (she wasn't around when I went by).
I stopped to help someone new in the area that was lost and was looking for some direction.
I did some communications on my computer with some friends.
I sent a birthday card to a friend.
I initiated a gathering for next weekend for a birthday celebration for two of my grandsons. (The men in this family are tough to get any kind of commitment from. This is a "big" deal to get their dad to say it was okay!!!)
I made beans and rice with lean meat for dinner and actually got happy sounds from the dh for it. lol
I made my laundry and shower available for a family that has none. (Lots of extra towels being washed up these days. lol)
I did some babysitting for a couple of the grandchildren this evening.
I managed to be quiet when certain confrontations were forced upon me. (I even smiled while standing there which seemed to make those being aggressive uncomfortable and back off. Go figure? LOL I guess silence really is golden. lol)
I made some quiet time for the dh and myself. (Thirty minutes of peace and calm. How nice!)
I did some Spark people posting.

I had grandchildren for the evening and helped them with school work.
I visited with a lady friend.
I did 4.2 miles of walking as part of my team program that I had signed up for. (I suspect I'll be sore tomorrow. lol)
I spent some quiet time with my dh.
My daughter came by to visit and I used only kind words, even when others didn't.
I did some friend communications on the computer for both my personal email and Spark people.

I had dinner with dh, daughter and her two children this evening. (One of my crock pot creations.)
Spent a short time alone with dh and went over some basics for the week.
I went to the grocery store and only came home with items on my pre-made list.
I visited with a couple of friends this evening in one of their homes.
I visited with my pastor's wife today. (It was a "good" bonding experience.)

emoticon I began my day by worshiping God with my granddaughter. We attended church together and then did some visiting with some people who attend my church.
I did some stair-stepping and took a short walk.
I spent time with our outdoor animals and nature.
I called my mom, brother and sister-in-law. I made arrangements to see my sister-in-law next weekend.
My son and my daughter-in-law came by for a visit, which I enjoyed very much. I wish they'd have stayed longer but was happy for the time we shared.
My daughter and her children came by and spent the evening and dinner with my dh and myself.
I caught up on all my grading but was unable to do my grading averages because didn't have everything with me to do so. (I plan on finishing up with the averages tomorrow.)
I joined a twelve week step group today. We will be meeting on Tuesday evenings every week.
I spent a short time of private conversation with my dh.
I did some email and Sparkpeople mail and posting with online friends today.
I did some prep work for some crockpot cooking this week.
I did some God time this evening.

emoticon Did not sleep well and my back is still bothering me which kept me from getting my rest. (My back is still better than it was earlier this week. Yeah!)
I took a short walk and did some stair-stepping this morning.
I did some scripture reading and prayers early in the day and then for short spurts during the day.
I sent out some Sparkpeople messages and did some posting today.
I spent time with two of my grandchildren and took my granddaughter to her Basketball game this morning.
I made a fresh fruit salad with yogurt to share at a brunch and some extra to have at home.
I attended my WAVES brunch and had some lovely interaction with a wonderful group of Christian ladies. (The program was on our "circle of friends" and was awesome. I also had invited someone who'd never been there before and she came. Yeah!)
I babysat grandchildren.
I made a lasagne for dinner with some wonderful veggies on the side.
I took a long nap in the late afternoon. (I hadn't intended to, it just happened. lol)
I spent some time visiting with my daughter.
I sent some snail mail notes of encouragement (just because) to three ladies I know.
I managed some personal private time for a short interaction with my dh.
I had intended to do some grade averaging today for work but was just too tired.

emoticon I slept through the night and woke up feeling better. (The back still is uncomfortable but definitely improved. Yeah!) I fed the outdoor animals and took a short walk first thing today.
I did a little stair-stepping.
I misplaced my keys for work so was a few minutes behind schedule getting there. (I'm usually there and have everything opened up and started, but the boss and I arrived together today. It felt strange. lol)
It was a fast day today (the clock in my room stopped working so I felt behind all day.)
I did lots of physical exercise with children today throughout the entire day. Whew!
I stayed late at work while a new security system was being installed. Our boss from the head office was there and was giving me instruction on said system. Since I am usually the first one there and the last one to leave it was especially important. (I feel much safer now.)
I did some God time with prayer and singing (well maybe I should just call it a joyful noise ... lol)
I picked up my granddaughter from her basketball practice and took her back to my house for the night. Her little brother was already there with my dh.
I made dinner for the four of us with lots of veggies. Everyone ate their fill and didn't even want desert. (That's unusual.)
I spent time with grandchildren, got them bathed and in bed before passing out in the living room chair.
I woke up with a sore kneck and made myself get up and clean up a mess I'd left in the bedroom earlier.
I've posted on Sparkpeople but have done no other communications from home today.
I have a "brunch" meeting at church in the morning and have a few things to put together to take with me. I'm too tired tonight. I also need to take granddaughter to her basketball game in the early morning. I have set my alarm clock to get up earlier and am going to bed right after posting this. I am trying not to procrastinate but need to be able to function relatively normal also.

emoticon I had a rough night because my back was causing me so much discomfort. I did a lot of talking with God while I was awake (mostly asking for relief.)
I finally gave up trying to sleep about three minutes until five am and just got up. I did some research online for some up and coming school lessons and decided to go into work early and get a head start.
I did do some early morning communicating with some friends online and even a little Sparkpeople posting.
I did some stair-stepping and a mini walk after taking care of our outdoor animals.
I took the lazy man's way out and took some pre-fab stew to work for lunch along with some applesauce. (I just didn't feel up to making up my original plans.)
I maintained myself while dealing with the fourth day this week of students NOT on their medication. (There was violence involved everyday this week due to this situation. I believe this is the major cause of my back issues ... stress.)
I had intended to go to the YMCA today but running errands that took longer than expected after work and my growing back pains caused me to come on home instead.
I stretched out on the bed downstairs when I got home trying to get some back relief since the medication and herbal tea I'd taken earlier didn't seem to work. The bed didn't either. Hmmm ...
I had visitors that used our water for showers and filling up some beverage containers. This will most likely continue at least through the end of this month.
The dh warmed up the lean ham, beans and rice I had put aside for our evening meal. (What a little yet HUGE blessing this was for me. I was resting while he set things up. How wonderful is that?)
I talked with one of my brothers today. We made tentative plans to meet with one another this weekend.
I made arrangements to take care of my mom's dog while she goes to visit her sister in Texas for a month. It made my momma very happy.
My dh and I had a visit with our daughter and we will be keeping her children Friday after school through Saturday. She has to work late Friday and all day on Saturday.
I have made a snowball out of freezer frost to take to share at school tomorrow. (We have been studying winter weather and will be doing a science experiment making chemical style snowflakes also. I hope it all comes together as planned! )
I plan on calling it a night and going to bed earlier than usual.

emoticon I awakened to the singing of birds and with God on my mind.
I put in some computer communications for some friends. That included a birthday greeting for one.
I usually wear a skirt or dress to school on Wednesday's for our afternoon chapel. I didn't do so today since I tore an enormous hole in my pantyhose and had no replacement. However, I did put my hair up fancy and put a little bling on to feel more special for the day. (I try to set an example of respect to God for the students at my Christian school.)
I read lots of scripture today and did some drills of my own trying to memorize my books of the Bible in order.
I took advantage of lots of time for prayer today. It was needed.
I did some prep work for a science experiment and cleared out some out-dated paperwork.
I did some stair-stepping and took a short walk after spending some time with the outdoor animals.
I took some special time to share with my dh when I got home from work as he has some vacation days he is using (that means I can see him awake during the week. Yeah!)
I prepared a lovely fish dinner for tonight and set up a healthy lunch for work tomorrow.
My back is troubling me, so I'll be stretching it out by laying flat as soon as I've finished my Sparkpeople posting. (That includes lots of friend thank you's and encouragement notes already done.)

emoticon Did some Sparkpeople posting and communicating before leaving for work this morning and then again this evening.
I spent some time with the outside animals and took a short walk.
I did some stair-stepping.
I did a 10 minute workout with my students at school today. (Clever .. they thought they were playing. lol)
I tried calling my mom again today but still getting her voice mail.
Visited with two of my grandchildren.
I made a healthy dinner for my grandchildren, dh and myself. (It was a hit ... no leftovers. lol)
Loaned out our shower and laundry room to those in need of it.
Spent some worshiping time in my car and then again at school.
Did a lot of organizing of paperwork for work and home.
Went to the local library to do some research for church and school.
Gave someone a lift home who needed one.
Stop by the "Ruth House" to say hello.
Sent out email invitations for a "Brunch" at my church this Saturday.

I did some minor posting and communicating on Sparkpeople early this morning and then considerable more this evening.
I spent a short time with the outdoor animals and took a small walk before leaving for work.
I maintained my mouth and actions when dh lost my car keys causing me to barely get to work on time. I did leave home telling him "I love you."
I did some prayer time before my students got to class and then did more during the day while they were there. (It was a challenging day ... students didn't take their meds today and other things. Hmmm ...)
I did some running and playing ball for over 30 minutes with students today.
I had a small accident on the way home from work today. No one was hurt. My car had a broken light lense while the light itself was NOT damaged. Hmmm ... The other vehicle (a truck) had the paint from my fender rubbed onto its black back fender. The officer who came said he wouldn't even waste the paper or time, but insisted we exchange information. The other driver indicated we really didn't need to do that, but the phone was ringing as I entered the house (just minutes away) and it was my insurance agent saying there was already a claim from "my" accident. Hmmm ... now I'm wondering what thats all about. I'm trying to do the right thing here but am not so sure about the other driver. Please pray for this situation.
I made some stuffed peppers for dinner and finished watching "The Children of Dune" before returning it to the public library. (I've been having some difficulty getting my items back on time. ... Not procrastinating tonight.)
I planed my lunch for work tomorrow and did the prep work for it.
I called my mother but was unable to reach her three times today.
I called and spoke with both my daughter and granddaughter today.
I spent some alone time with my dh.
I paid some bills a little early online tonight. (Not procrastinating)

emoticon I woke up naturally about my normal wake up time to the sound of birds. Not one, two or a few, but a lot of birds ... and several different kinds. I counted at least four and maybe five. The sun wasn't even up yet. I personally relate God with the sound of birds due a past experience in my much younger years. This immediately put me in a communicating mode with God. Before I knew it an hour had gone by and I hadn't even gotten out of bed yet.
When I did get up I spent some computer time communicating with some friends there.
I watched a short church service on television.
I did my morning regime and prepared myself for church service, which I then went to and attended.
I stayed after the regular church service for a short after-service and a visit with some church friends.
When I returned home I had a lean pork lunch and some dh time.
I gathered some materials I'll be wanting for my students at school in this coming week. (I won't be taking some of it in until the end of the week, but wanted to make certain it was together and easily accessible when I'm ready for it.)
I took a 45 minute nap.
I spent several hours doing some research for school lesson plans.
I prepared a healthy seasoned turkey, garlic potatoes and seasoned greens meal for dinner.
My daughter and her two children dropped by for a short visit and to pick up some items they'd left at their last visit. There were lots of hugs and "I love you." passed around.
I prepared my healthy lunch for work tomorrow.
I did some stair-stepping before getting ready for bed.
I am doing some Sparkpeople posting and communicating before retiring for the night.

emoticon I did a little reading and research early this morning.
I fed and took care of animals and spent a little outdoor exercise time. Loved the fresh air that was neither too hot or cold. :@)
I managed some physical activity in the way of some heavy housework before showering and getting ready to babysit grandchildren.
I did some posting and Sparkpeople interaction.
I paid a couple of bills and got my tithes ready for church tomorrow.
I called and talked with one of my sons.
I had a short visit with my daughter.
I made a healthy lunch for dh, two grandchildren and myself. (They weren't hungary but I insisted they eat. I know if they don't then it becomes nibbles on junk food and won't eat regular food meals.)
I spent the afternoon with our eldest son, his two boys, our other two grandchildren and dh at the local movie theater watching "The Hobbit" in 3D. Great flick!
I had an altercation at the theater snack bar where we spent over $50.00 in beverages and snacks and they shorted us a large popcorn ($10.00). I was so angry I could have spit. It was their word against mine. They said they already gave it to us but we didn't have it. Hmmm ... It took me about 15 minutes after I walked away (fuming) to calm myself down. I went back to the counter knowing I had been wronged just to tell them "I forgive you." I needed to do that to release "myself" from the anger and to be able to embrace the joy of my family and our time together. It worked.
I dropped off grandchildren and returned home to spend a quiet evening "alone" with my dh. (Wow! How did that happen? lol)

emoticon I slept in a little today so the animals were more than eager to see me first thing. I didn't linger and hang out with them since it was raining and the earth was already full of puddles along with dropping temperatures. This is not the way I care to spend my mornings.
I read some scripture.
I did some of my own laundry and a little bit of stair stepping.
I called my mom (three times) just to let her know I love her.
I called a friend and then later went for a bite at a German restaurant and then took a looooong walk after. Whew! I'm still sore! lol
The dh and myself did some babysitting for two of the grandchildren.
I went through the in-house groceries and made up a tentative healthy menu for the following week.
I picked up some literature on some workout activities at the local YMCA to go over and decide what I am up for.
I texted one of our sons about us meeting up to see "The Hobbit" in 3D this Saturday.
I did some Sparkpeople interaction and posting.
I spent some private time with my dh.
I began gathering material for a science project and an art project for my students at school.
I went over some bills and made a trip to the bank. (Yesterday I discovered someone else used on of my cards so I had to cancel it and notify the company.) Today I signed papers for a new card. (This could be a good thing ... no impulse buying til the new card comes in. lol

emoticon I greeted the day with some outdoor activity with the animals and enjoyed the nature around our home.
I took time to send messages to friends by email.
I sent a special message to my baby brother who had a birthday today. Lots of love and good thoughts going his way!
I did laundry for a family without water and gave them the use of our bathrooms for their private use.
I shared our internet with a mother who is job seeking and doesn't have a personal computer.
I called a friend.
I visited with my pastor and his wife.
I visited with my ex-pastors wife and her mother.
I shared my love of God with my personal banker.
I called one of my sons and left him a loving message.
I sent a message to another son making arrangements to go to the movies with him and all our grandchildren this coming weekend.
I took a walk with my dh.
I spent private bonding time with my dh that wasn't job or family related. Hmmm ... this is harder than you can imagine. lol But we did it. lol
I did some stair-stepping and light weight lifting.
I said prayers.
I posted on Sparkpeople with some interactions.

emoticon I started my day with a "Good morning!" to God and then spent some time outside with the birds and some animals.
I had a simple but healthy breakfast and did some stair stepping.
I made a couple of phone calls to family and friends and made some plans to see them later this week.
I sent out mail and email to some friends and started catching up with my Sparkfriends. (A couple hours worth)
I did some laundry for a family without water this week. They all took showers at my home also.
The dh and myself kept grandchildren until their mom got off work and picked them up around 10 pm.
The dh and I did some research for movies in the area and made a date to go see one tomorrow (just the two of us).
I maintained myself when the kitchen sink pipes broke making a mess of the kitchen and me. I didn't even retaliate when accused of causing the event (totally made me hurt inside while giving the appearance of calm). Whew! That was a tough one!
I told everyone who was in my home today that I love them.
I spent time with some ferral cats and even got one to let me pet it this evening.
I read some Bible scripture and did some contemplation over them.

emoticon emoticon I watched the moon fade away and the sun rise while I thanked God for the day and my life.
I took a short walk and fed the birds and some other wildlife.
I put dinner in the crockpot for our annual New Year's Day dinner instead of deep frying it. There was an abundance of tasty seasoned vegtable choices that were all put in mini crockpots also. Angelfood cake was the desert of choice along with cut up fruit.
I thought about and attempted to call a friend but was unable to speak with her in person so I sent an email. I hope to meet her tomorrow for a visit and maybe lunch.
I bit my tongue and walked away when some crude and hurtful comments were directed at me from a family member. A few minutes later I returned and gave that person a hug and told them I love them.
I called all my sons to wish them a happy new year and invited them over.
I babysat two of our grandchildren with the dh and enjoyed it. We did some active outdoor play. Then (when our daughter showed up) had dinner ready and shared it with her, the grandchildren, and dh.

emoticon Welcome to December, my favorite month of the year! Christmas season makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It is not about the gifts, lights, parties, food and merriment, but rather the reason for the season. Share your love and embrace God's love this month. This is a "good" thing! This month I'll be sharing God related material. Some will be serious, some will be church related, some will be laughable and some will be delectable. Please come daily to enjoy and share with your friends!
emoticon I thought I might wait until New Year's Day before posting my resolutions, but then thought better of it. They are not in any special order. So here they are.
1) I will "not" procrastinate so much. lol
2) I will actively spend more time with and for God.
3) I will be more forgiving (especially with family).
4) I will choose to be more physically active. (I'm going to join a team or club for something that will keep me moving.)
5) I will be deliberate when grocery shopping to have lots of "healthy" style snacks and meals for home and work.
6) I will be a better friend.
7) I will love unconditionally.
emoticon Hugs & hugs ... I wouldn't want you to be lopsided. lol Merry Christmas-after and great joy to all!

emoticon Every year I seem to make resolutions for the New Year. Then I jump in with a vigor and usually end up fizzling out before accomplishing the goal I've set. Hmmm ... This year I decided to set more reasonable goals that will keep me from feeling inadequate. They will be more attainable and leave me feeling more of a success in my own mind. Instead of putting specific numbers on things I will make them more open-ended. This will allow me to improve at my own pace without the feeling of it not being enough. I hate being around others who never seem to get enough or have enough. Always feeling negative about oneself instead of positive and uplifting. Why would I try put myself in that same position? lol Anyway, my resolutions for the New Year of 2013 has started forming inside of me. I intend to post them tomorrow as an accountability to myself for myself. It won't be big but it will be meaningful to me. I urge you to do the same.
emoticon Hugs & hugs ... I wouldn't want you to be lopsided. lol Merry Christmas-after and great joy to all!

emoticon As you share your days with others you make a lot of memories. You may not always remember the details but you'll remember the sparkle of the special times. Use the goodness within you that others may see it. Take each day to realize the comfort and joy given you and do the same for someone or several someones in return. Allow love to be around and within you. God made you with love. Use that gift and wallow in it.

1. Please continue to pray for Mrs. Witherspoon and everyone who has to deal with her.
2. No dunking on the basketball court at St. Theresa's. If you can think of a way to sprinkle, go for it.

The following is a bookmark someone sent me that had a black & white nativity picture at the top. There is no author or mark of ownership on the bookmark to give credit to.
THE JERUSALEM GAZETTE
________Dec 26 Bethlehem
IMPACT OF CHILD'S BIRTH FELT BY MANY
Reports of singing angels and a newborn Son of God in a manger are said to be filling residents of this tiny hamlet near Jerusalem with amazement and joy. Local shepherds say they were engulfed without warning early yesterday by a "brilliant light" and saw an angel before them.
"We were absolutely terrified." said one. "then the angel said not to be afraid he had good news for us. A Savior had been born - Christ the Lord. He said we would find a baby in a manger at a stable that was close by."
Another shepherd added, "The next thing we knew there were thousands of angels, and they were singing something like, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace and goodwill to all."
"Then," added a third shepherd "they were gone, just like that. We went right away to find this baby. "A fourths said, "We didn't know what we would see. More lights, more angels? But it was just this young couple and a newborn boy. They were so gentle and humble. We sensed this amazing joy and peace like never before. We went and told anyone who would listen."
The couple had just traveled from Nazareth to register for the census decreed by Caesar Augustus. Mary, the mother, and her husband, Joseph, assert that an angel had told them the child would be the Son of God and they were to name him Jesus.
"We are just so blessed by God." Mary said. "I keep thinking about what the shepherds told us they saw. And what a miracle it is that God would become one of us to reconcile us to Him."

emoticon I sent out a message to all members of three Spark teams for a Merry Christmas. I also let them know they are loved and cherished. The responses were abundant. However, I was sadden to find out (through returned responses) how many of our Spark friends were alone or had uncommon sadness for Christmas this year. Several had had NO Christmas outside of themselves (including cards, calls or messages of any kind). The message I sent out was their only cheer and they were propelled to share this with me (mostly in confidence). I have interacted with them for months and some for many years and for the most part I never knew what was going on in their lives outside of our exercise and healthy lifestyle goals. That one little message was a literal life saving "event" for at least one soul. You never know what affect you have on others with the simplest of things. Don't be hesitant or stingy with sharing yourself with others. What may be a casual smile or word to you could mean the strength, endurance or comfort of another. You may be someone else's lifeline. Life is a gift. Please take a moment and share it throughout your awake time. I do cherish all my Spark family and if your reading this that includes you. Thank you for being there! Pass it on! God and I love you!

emoticon "A cheerful heart is good medicine" Proverbs 17:22
This is something we need to remember while standing in lines, crawling along in bumper to bumper traffic, stressing over deadlines and a full agenda. Find the joy in the moment. Perhaps listening to a positive attitude radio station while in traffic or being observant to others around us who are enjoying themselves. You might even try spreading some cheer of your own with a kind word or pay for someone else's order in a drive-thru. This is the season to share love. Be creative and find your own joy within your heart ... not from others or things.

emoticon Well today I made a dent in my Christmas wrapping. I sorted through the attic storage room and found some boxes, bags and other assorted items for the wrapping. I brought out all the children under sixteen gifts to make certain no one was missing before beginning. I then made certain I had a container to put all individual gifts in that needed one. (Some containers were unusual. Examples: a cereal box, a used triangular shipping container, a Christmas stocking, a potato chip cylinder, a milk carton, a mason jar, a round bath powder plastic container, a laundry basket, an office waste basket and a laundry soap box just to name a few.) I then sorted through the wrapping papers available and how much of each one I had and organized them by size and type (meaning age appropriate ... color, infant, child, boy or girl, teen wannabes and teens). I even used some Sunday Comics paper for one particular child for their love of reading said item. Each child was considered before picking the paper and adoring ribbons or embellishes for their gift or gifts. This process began just before 9 am and finished around 1 pm. The adults are easier to do because they are usually able to be in standard boxes and their likes have been more steady in resent history. I don't have to be concerned that Spiderman has been replaced with Halo heroes, or Hello Kitty with Barbie. lol The wrapping of the gifts is often more involved than the gift itself and has become part of the tradition of the holiday. One year all the gifts were wrapped in brown paper bags and then mosaics where done with cut straw pieces to make a design for that person. I began doing this type of wrapping early in my marriage when money was tight and I wanted those receiving from us to know that there was love and thought in the inexpensive token-type gift. Forty some years later I am tempted to have the stores do the wrapping or to just bag it. However, I am then reminded that conversation during our Christmas gatherings are more often about the fun or endearing wrapping of earlier years, even when the gift is forgotten. I wished to share this as a reminder that truly it is the thought behind the gift (or around it ... lol) that is what is important, not the price or size of it. I pray that there will be joy in the giving and the receiving for you and yours!

emoticon Welcome to December, my favorite month of the year! Please come daily to enjoy and share with your friends!
emoticon NO BAKE CHRISTMAS WREATH COOKIES
1 stick butter
30 lg. marshmallows
Melt above in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.
Add to above:
1/2 tsp. vanilla (I personally prefer almond or even mint extract)
2-3 tsp. green food coloring
3 1/2 c. corn flakes
Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper from greased teaspoon. Shape each into small wreaths with greased fingers. Decorate with red hot candies (you could use red skittles or M&M's instead but they are larger so your wreath's would also need to be larger) and chill to set.
*** I know this has a lot of things you may wish to avoid at this time. Just keep in mind that all things in moderation. You can do that ... right? lol

emoticon Our actions throughout the year affects not only ourselves, but others around us. Many times the ripple affect will touch those we don't know or never meet or see. This time of year is a good time to reflect on who we are to ourselves and others. It is a good time to think about how we might better ourselves not just for us but those around us. Here is a quote I feel is worth taking time to think about.
"Let our actions make us worthy of the blessing we have received and (pray) that God will continue to bless us!" Diane Albers

emoticon Honor means to highly esteem someone for their integrity, honesty, uprightness or courage. We pay homage to our veterans for their service to our country, we hold up our athletes, students, entertainers, ministers and others who achieve excellence in their fields. we honor people we value and deem worthy of our respect. We honor God with our tithes, our adoration and everything we have. Far above all others God is worthy of all our honor and praise. For He is why we are. The season of Christmas is truly the greatest opportunity to show honor to our creator. Merry Christmas!

emoticon THE LEGEND OF THE CHRISTMAS SPIDER
(author unkown)
(A folk legend from Germany and the Ukraine)
Once upon a time, long ago, a gentle mother was busily cleaning the house for the most wonderful day of the year.... The day on which the Christ child came to bless the house. Not a speck of dust was left. Even the spiders had been banished from their cozy corner in the ceiling to avoid the housewife's busy cleaning. They finally fled to the farthest corner of the attic.

T'was the Christmas eve at last! The tree was decorated and waiting for the children to see it. But the poor spiders were frantic, for they could not see the tree, nor be present for the Christ child's visit. But the oldest and wisest spider suggested that perhaps they could peep through the crack in the door to see him. Silently they crept out of their attic, down the stairs, and across the floor to wait in the crack in the threshold. Suddenly, the door opened a wee bit and quickly the spiders scurried into the room. They must see the tree closely, since their eyes weren't accustomed to the brightness of the room... so the crept all over the tree, up and down, over every branch and twig and saw every one of the pretty things. At last they satisfied themselves completely of the Christmas tree beauty.

But alas!! Everywhere they went they had left their webs, and when the little Christ child came to bless the house he was dismayed. He loved the little spiders, for they were God's creatures too, but he knew the mother, who had trimmed the tree for the little children, wouldn't feel the same, so He touched the webs and they all turned to sparkling, shimmering, silver and gold!

Ever since that time, we have hung tinsel on our christmas trees, and according to the legend, it has been a custom to include a spider among the decorations on the tree.

***As a note of interest ... It has been said that in parts of Europe it is the "Christ" that delivers gifts on Christmas Eve. He often enters through open windows and rings a bell when He leaves. The bell is to signal gifts have been delivered.

emoticon You may be unaware of it, but you exercise faith daily. it is by faith you fall asleep, confident of morning. You eat, expecting nourishment. You breathe in air you can't see. You drive your car, trusting it will take you to your destination. Jesus said that faith as tiny as a mustard seed is enough to produce miraculous results. So why do we assume that only mountain-moving faith will do? the word of God is a faith builder. Read the Bible and cause that mustard seed to grow and flourish. And while your at it learn about how precious you are and how greatly you are loved!

emoticon I had the cutest and funniest thing happen at work Friday! I just have to share! One of my students sneezed and another one said "Gusoonhiet!" (guessing at the spelling, so it's probably wrong) Then another child asked what that meant. The young man that said it told the other one that it meant "God bless you." The little guy that asked the question got real quiet for a moment and then with an unwavering stare and a voice full of sincerity he asked the following question. "So if God sneezes, then what do we say?" Cracked me up! I love my job!

Rev. Jerry Springston
A young couple invited their aging pastor to their home for dinner one Sunday. While the couple was in the kitchen preparing to serve the meal, the pastor visited with the couple's five year old. "What are we having to eat?" he asked. "Goat" the child replied. "Goat! ... Really?" frowned the pastor. "Yes." said the child. "They have been talking about having the 'old goat' for Sunday dinner all week!"
"A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back."

emoticon Most of us know someone who has a spirit of joy. No matter what happens in life, they always have an uplifting word and a glowing smile. they sparkle with joy brighter than polished diamonds and everyone enjoys their company. Wouldn't you like to be like that person. Be joyful and have others be joyful because of it. Our joy should shine in such a way that it lights the pathway to lead others to Christ. (This is on my "bucket list.") Being joyful is a conscious choice. Think about that. "Joy to the world!"
