Mine has given me mixed signals in the past as well. It is frustrating. Maybe there is something in the bloodwork/ultrasound that makes her think that the clomid won't work. Hang in there and I hope that you get a better answer from her soon.

My GYN said the same thing wait 6 months then clomid if clomid didn't work alone she'd try it with metformin. I decided to skip her and go right to the fertility specialist since my insurance will not cover the clomid or the ultrasounds anyway I went ahead and didn't wait the 6 months she wanted me to wait. Also one of the appts with her she must have written something about infertility and the insurance didn't pay for the ultrasounds she ordered or bloodwork for hormones and lining that was tested for cancer. None of that had to do with fertility. If your trying to get pregnant a fertility specialist is the way to go. They don't pay around and they will start you out with the same thing your obgyn would have.

In August I started seeing a new OBGNY. She said that she would help me get pregnant with Clomid in about six months but I need to lose weight first. She told me don't bother exercising and eat only 1,000 calories a day.
Next month she ran some tests and had an ultra sound done. I got a postcard in the mail saying they found cysts on my ovaries. Yeah, finally an answer! Doctors have been suspecting PCOS since1995 and its nice to finally have proof so we can do something about it.
I called the OBGYN today to make an appointment. The receptionist says the doctor is referring me to a fertility specialist (which my insurance company won't cover) and that its the end of the line with her. Wait? What? She said we would start Metaphomin and Clomid. Now its adios? Why are doctors refusing to help me? What gives?
