I like Greek yogurt too, and have been buying the nonfat versions. Brands I have tried and liked are Chobani, Voskos, and Oikos (that one is from Stonyfield Farms). I think I have some Yoplait and Dannon ones to try out this week.

I've noticed as I read labels that if I compare, for example, blueberry ones, one brand will have less sugar than another, and I'll use that to help me decide what to buy. Also some flavors have more sugar/carbs than others. I haven't tried plain yet, but may now that I have some ideas for what to add to it.

I've gotten hooked on the Yoplait Greek and the Chobani Greek yogurt. It has a slightly thicker texture than the regular Yoplait but it doesn't have any HFCS or artificial colors in the ingredient list. The sugar/carb grams are still around 20 per serving but at least it is an improvement and seems to be a more natural product. I haven't looked at the plain varieties yet to see how much sugar/carbs I would save per serving but I am going to on my next grocery run. That way I can just add fruit as Belrosa mentioned and hopefully cut down the carb count a bit more and up the fiber.

I buy plain organic or greek yoghurt and if I want flavour add chopped up or pureed fruit or berries and/or a bit of stevia to it. I agree with you on artificial sweeteners - they are the work of the devil.

In Australia where I live, there is a brand called Jalna which is set in the tub and is just milk and cultures. NO added sugar. Maybe there is something similar where you live.

Oh ... I also usually put in some cinnamon and maybe nutmeg or cardamon - cinnamon helps to control blood sugar... There's more info on that here: mypcos.info/1/treatments/natural/cinnamon

I hope you find something that works for you!

I LOVE yogurt and have always pretty much stuck to the "Light" varieties. I've also come to despise aspertame for a couple of reasons...mostly the fact it causes cancer in rats and has a nasty aftertaste. So, my issue with regular yogurt is it has like 30-something grams of sugar! YIKES! So, how do you do it? I can't find the lesser of two evils. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated! : ) Have a happy day!
